Eug,

The fact is that, despite how much liberals like to try and fool the public by inferring that he's where he is because of Daddy, President-Elect George W. Bush is not a Junior. It is Bore who is a Junior. It is Bore who was groomed for the Presidency by Daddy from the day he was born.

apoppin,

History. As much as Bore's people would like to believe otherwise, modern election divisions are very good at what they do. I've been saying exactly the same thing since this process began. The spread has not changed enough to even be a blip when compared to the nearly 6 million votes counted.

HMM...if that's not a word, we should coin it. It will be useful the next time the networks decide to start calling races when they have no idea what's going on.

If we are talking semantics, there is no such thing as President-Elect anyone at this point.

I'm not talking about Bore. In fact, I'm not really talking about Shrub either. I'm talking about the only Pres. Bush that ever was (as of today), and that's is Shrub's daddy. Anyways, to those following the thread, I'm just asking if the quote attributed to daddy is true: "I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God." I have my doubts, but would be interested either way.

And since you brought it up... Do I think Shrub is riding partially on daddy's coattails? Of course. Anybody would be naive to think that wasn't at least partially a factor in his success. Does that mean Bore is a purely self-made man? Of course not.

As for suitability for the job... I personally don't consider Bore to be honest and the fact that he is allowing his cronies to potentially pursue litigation in this context, if true, is shameful. However, I also think Shrub is too inexperienced to properly represent the US in the international scene. I don't claim to have better knowledge of foreign policy than he, but then again, I'm not running for leader of my country. But as I said, that wasn't what I was originally talking about.

Sure there is...
George W. Bush....
son of former President George Herbert Walker Bush and hence not a "junior"

And now for a meaningful question, Russ - Have you ever forgotten to type it in for all your posts? I can't remember a single one.

I know dennilfloss has ocasionally forgotten a song . . .

EDIT: NO ONE is president-elect at this point. The election is still being contested.

You know what I find truly remarkable about these Bore-Bush bashes...

Slick Willie was nothing more than an Arkansas Governor before the White House, but miraculously was deemed "qualified" - Bore? a dropout, a liar, a second-rate VP to a 3rd rate crook - somehow noble, perfect for the job.

GW - a respected Governor of the state of Texas. - yet somehow "not qualified"

Odd indeed.

I see it's Red -
Nope Red, you'll not rile me. There's a difference in making mistakes and in being pathological.

Too bad this doesn't have a spell-check huh? :D

There are fears that a manual recount will introduce more errors, causing even more problems.

"But some doubt was cast on the procedure when it was learned that Bush was considering seeking a court order to stop the manual recount. In a conference call late Friday night, Bush gave former Secretary of State James A. Baker III, who is looking after the Texas governor's interests in Florida, authority to seek a court injunction barring the manual recounts, according to several GOP officials involved in the discussions. The decision was left up to Baker, however."

"- In Polk County, officials were rescanning ballots in 60 of 163 precincts to reconcile the number of ballots handed out with the number of votes cast. Election workers planned to continue work Saturday."

"In all, the Gore campaign is requesting that 1.78 million of the nearly 6 million Florida ballots cast be hand counted."

Florida recount goes on and on and on and on .......

So in other words, Gore is a liar. He said he would NOT request a hand recount. Thus, either he is a liar, or his "people" are not listening to him. Both of which are not good.

Drunk? - He doesn't drink anymore.
"Questioble" - which I assume means "Questionable" Intelligence?

Seems to have rescued Texas from the liberal mess it was in when he took office.
If running Arkansas is qualification for the White House,
If being the VP to an impeached, and utter buffoon is qualification... give me a drunk any day.
