Sweet car no doubt...but $679/month seems like quite a car payment. But then again, if you can afford it...more power to you.
Yeah I got it back in Dec. 2000 and financed it for 60 months.Originally posted by: Cyberian
Are you still making payments on the 3000GT?
Leasing has many advantages... and makes sense for me instead of buying right now.Originally posted by: BAMAVOO
If you have to LEASE (Fleece it) you CAN'T afford it.

Why you messing with these wimpy cars?
850i with the v12 is the only way to go!
Or, just buy my v6 Fiero. Bwahahahaha
Based on that plus your "pro" of "It's a BMW" make me say stick with what you have for now. IMO (and I'm sure I'll get flamed for saying this) anyone planning on picking up a car in that pirce range should be able to drop cash.I can afford it... it'll be tight but...
I'm disappointed. You were supposed to go against the vote. 😉Originally posted by: Mutilator
Well I decided I'm going to hold off for a few months and see what happens. One day I'll have a nice new car. 🙂
Thanks for your opinions.
It's surprising how close your thoughts are to mine...Originally posted by: ObiDon

It doesn't make much sense to stop paying towards ownership of a vehicle in order to get into payments on something that you have to give back in three years...or pay a monster residual payment just to keep it.
Instead of going broke just for a car and thinking of it as "just another $350/month" think of how much other stuff you could do with that money. Unless you plan on living in your car, why not get some nicer stuff (maybe some home theater stuff 😉) for your home or even a better home. Or, you could use it as startup capital for a business. If you're still pretty young, you might want to look into what types of choices you have for investing. Time is everything when it comes to investing.
And, if you're planning on using the new car partially as a company vehicle, I'm fairly sure you'll be disappointed in whatever write-off you get.
We could all go on but it sounds like you already made your decision anyway. 😉

I drove a coworkers 325i at work today and was pleasanty surprised. Even though the car only has 184HP it seemed to be better all around compared to my 3000GT.
~200bhp really isn't that much power. We can use a LOT more in the states. Look at corvettes or firebirds, or hell any other car."only 184 HP" are you out of your mind how can that be "only" Dunno if you all go racing but that is alot of horsepower - more than you can ever use in the States. BTW the 325 has 192 HP. And if 145 mph is'nt enough - I dont know. All the Americans I see on the road (there is tons of them here ) drive dog slow (and in town, a few drive outright scary, with drunk like driving skills -suddenly jerking the car around a corner) - they could do with 30HP - but prolly they are just extra careful
And if u talk acceleration, well when can u use it - almost never
