Did anyone else have that benchmark program screw up their game? I tried it for HL2 and Far Cry and it would change settings and not change them back when I went to actually play the game ... Some of the settings it changed I couldn't even find and I lost all audio in Far Cry and had to reload the damn game ...

I didn't have it do this, but it did run the game like crap (really choppy) during benchmarking, and return really crappy results. Normally, I don't have any issues with HL2.

I get the same score across all resolutions (around 50 fps). Is that because I'm limited by my cpu?

cpu: p4 2.66 @ 3.0 ghz (533 fsb)
ram: 1 gb
video: geforce 6800gt

I would say yes. HL2 seems to be more cpu dependant than other modern games like FarCry and Doom3.

Google the prob 4 farcry- there's an easy reg fix 4 that one- the bench prog just disables the sound 😛 I'd give u the fix but i cant remember it or find it... 🙁

BTW, who like me has gone back 4 a quick farcry fragfest & been blown away allover again by that INCREDIBLE outdoor setting- the water still brings tears 2 the eye, huge draw distances and THAT shrubbery just rocks 😀
