What's with the lack of Fury X results? They didn't have the card on hand for testing or is there some known issue with it that somehow doesn't affect Fury and Nano?

They are adding it as they finish benching.

Here's one with Fury X and a whole lot of other cards. Only DX11 mode though but Fury X is matching Titan X at 1080p and winning at higher resolution. The description mentions they OC all the GPUs but doesn't list the clocks.. -_-

They have a water cooled 980Ti OC (MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Sea Hawk) in the lead at 1080p though. 😉

Fury X does pull away from the 390X compared to Fury though.

Stock vs Stock GPU results!

Oh dang, is that a 390 vs a 980Ti?! 😵

DX12 helps weaker CPUs a lot, as expected.

Although Hitman is equipped with a built-in benchmark, Computer Base utilizes as usual a real game scene. This Agent 47 travels through large gatherings of people in different rooms. This is an exceptionally demanding scene in the game.

Hawaii prime time. The rest doesn't show any benefit (minus Fury)

Fury seems to be pretty overpriced compared to the Hawaii based cards. Is there in any scenarios where the price difference between a 390X and a Fury X is even close to be good value? You could even get two 390 for the price of a Fury X. Is it the lack of ROPs that hold Fury X back?

I'm more impressed with the performance, in the most demanding scenes with thousands of detailed NPCs, all AI simulated. Mid-range GPUs are putting out very impressive numbers at 1080 and even 1440p. Maxed settings. 😵

I mean compared to this..

So what do you think about the scores now? Are you surprised?

Not at all, GCN 1.1 or bust it seems.

This isnt anything to do with GCN being forward thinking. Its all about consoles being GCN 1.1 and lazy ports.

Tahiti=No gain.
Tonga=Small loss.
Fiji=Small gain.
Hawaii=Big gain

Updated with more GPUs.

Basically Tonga is screwed in DX12, it loses some performance.

Tahiti is neutral.

Hawaii has a big gain.

Fiji (Fury) also has a big gain.

The difference between these guys, CB.de uses the heavy crowd scene only.

Because Tonga and Fiji are both GCN 1.2, it's odd to see such differences. This suggests AMD's driver is not fully ready for this game.

Hawaii and Fiji have the same 10% gain. You are right about Tahiti and Tonga though.

Never mind I was looking wrong. You are correct.

so who else got a R9 290 around $250 back in 2014?

think 290X could have also been found < $350 back in 2014 as well

I don't get the "woof" either lol.

Busy at work, but figured I'd answer this. Like most words, regional usage for simple words have different meanings.

Where I group up this was very common, even made it as #5 on Urban Dictionary:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=woof&defid=4791608

verb: to declare something bad, ugly, terrible, or nasty.

interjection: use as an expletive to express disgust or surprise.

can be a replacement for damn that sucks!
"This jager bomb's gonna make me hurl."
"Woof!"

Off to do what I get paid to do 😀
