Hitler surname

Why should they have to change their name due to what an asshole did a long time ago?

It's like the michael bolton anaology in office space.

Probably because nobody wants to be associated with a meglomanical homicidal maniac asshole. It is reported that Hitler's real last name was Schickelgruber.

"Why should I change? He's the one who sucks."

meglomanical

what does that mean? one of those 60 cent words huh.

Yea Hitler as a Last name would suck. It also would suck if it was your first name as well. 😛

I'd have to change it

What does that mean? Megalomaniacal means an obsession with power and grandeur, also known as the Napoleon Complex.

amnesiac 2.0, I'm curious, what's the exact spelling of the word you posted, as I'd personally like to read the whole meaning.

No entry found for meglomanical.

you can just call me mike.

We'll be getting rid of Mike Bolton.

I would change it to a name that isn't associated with Zealotry and Megalomania. Something like Falwell, Arafat, Palco or Hussien..DOH!

Hahahaha.... Can you imagine if you?re in a restaurant meeting a friend with an accent and he get up and yells out Hiii Hitler! Hiii Hitler!

i think i would change my name if it happened to be hitler (but i might be an exception, seeing how my grandparents were in concentration camps in poland and all of their relatives were killed by hitler).

but you know what's funny, are hypothetical situations that will never happen. "what if your name was hitler?" hmm... assuming you don't marry someone named hitler, you won't become a hitler yourself. and let's also consider the males who responded to this question saying they wouldn't change their name: first of all, your name won't be hitler, ever. and you'll never change your name to hitler, because that is just ridiculous beyond the point of discussing further. but to say that if your name was hitler, which isn't exactly a common name, that you wouldn't change it? michael bolton is a little more common and benign than the single worst person of the 20th century, and you would chose to be associated with him in any way? sometimes i think people take this devil's advocacy thing a little beyond reason :disgust:

No one who said they wouldn't change their name is playing devil's advocate. They simply think (and I agree with them) that what one bad person did decades ago... should have no effect on the way another person lives their life (least of all their name). It's silly and petty if it upsets people to hear that someone is named Hitler.

no, it's unbelievably insensitive and stupid. apparently you're lucky enough to not have been personally affected by hitler, but my grandmother's and grandfather's entire families were killed. brothers, sisters, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents. everyone. because a guy named hitler ordrered it. and it would be "silly" if my grandma met someone named hitler who didn't care what people thought of him? in about 50 years, when it's virtually guaranteed that anyone who survived world war 2 and was in europe has died, then yes, the name hitler can be brought back without too much controversy. but for now... i could not imagine someone who would want to be associated with hitler in any easily changeable way.
