So I've been squatting with an injury for the past year or so. Whenever I finish a set of squats there is a sharp pain in my left hip joint. It doesn't feel like a muscle pull, and it feels like it's actually in the joint. Anyways, it doesn't hurt at all while I'm squatting, but as soon as I rerack the weight and walk off to get a drink is when I feel it. After about 30-60 seconds of walking the pain disappears.

I took 5 months off at one point to see if it would heal, but it's still there. Would I be nuts to just keep lifting and not see a doctor about it since it doesn't effect me 90% of the time?

I did just set a new 1RM for myself at 245lbs. I've been doing lighter weights only for the most part seeing if just doing 135lbs getting low and stretching will help the pain subside, but it hasn't worked so I have started adding weight again.
 
Are you sure it isn't muscle related? The reason I ask:

I have a similar pain that is what you described - it usually feels like it is in the joint and not the muscle. However, I know it is a muscle pain, specifically a strained glute muscle. Strangely enough, I pulled it during heavy bench press (I tend to curl my legs under the bench and tense them when benching real heavy). I mostly feel the pain during squats & deadlifts. The only thing I've been able to do is to lift a little lighter on leg day and pay close attention to proper form. Many weeks (actually months) later, it seems like it has gotten mostly better.
