Obama was always against the war because he was a community organizer when the war was being talked about. If he were actually someone of influence he would have supported it like everyone else. He can't even come out in favor of gay marriage - You think he would have been able to go against 90% of the country to say he was against the war? Please..
Of course, he is so against it that he has not done a damn thing to change any of Bush's policies.. but keep living in your fantasy land that Obama is against the war.

Do you just make up your facts out of thin air? President Obama was a community organizer after college befpre going to law school. After his three years of law school he then practiced law. Next he began his political career at the state level, first losing an election then winning one. His time as a community organizer was at least a decade BEFORE GWB enacted on his stupid fantasy to conquer Iraq in the name of freedom.
And if Obama hasn't changed any of Bush's policies as you claim, why are you, Fox News and the dittoheads so incensed at everything he does? You should be thrilled that he is purported continuing the policies of your great leader.
Geez, it's amazing sometimes the convoluted thought processes and factual fantansies the far right labors under.

Ordinarily, I'd agree with Hillary. I don't agree, however, that drawing a parallel to Vietnam is accurate. Vietnam wasn't the ideological foe 10 years after the war that Venezuela is now, nor was Vietnam covorting with America's other foes, such as Russia and Cuba, nor engaging in trashing America and what it stands for, like Chavez does. If anything, in Doi Moi, they were engaging America's allies. Vietnam made very clear after 86 that it wanted to engage the international community, and move forward. Chavez doesn't seem as interested. He's interested in insulting the US and regressing into socialism.
FWIW, I hope Obama succeeds at removing Venezuela from our list of antagonists. But I'm a skeptic. My philosophy is that some nations, like people, hate us for the sake of hating us. There's no reason for it.

Your post is very confused, I'll hit a few places.
Socialism is not necessarily 'regression', and 'hating the US' do not go hand in hand with it. They're separate issues.
Your contrast of Venezuela and Viet Nam does not counter her clearly legitimate point about how one-time enemies of the US can later have relations with us.
And Viet Nam was a far bigger enemy of the US - our fault, by the way, they tried to approach us for an alliance - than Venezuela under Chavez.
Chavez has mainly criticized some of our policies - and often with good reason, and the Bush administration chose to make him an enemy.
When you say he's 'interested in insulting the US', you might recall that he has some reason not to be the friend of the administration that supported a coup against him.
Do you think just maybe *our* president might say a few mean words if he were hauled out of the White House at gunpoint and a corrupt regime replaced him for a few days?

The Republicans usually show up with unloaded guns, firing blanks, nonsense rhetoric.
The image for me of this event: the Republican walks up to Hillary, and pulls his revolver, and smirks, looking like he has the upper hand. She walks to him calmly, takes the gun out of his hand, puts the barrel down his pants, and pulls the trigger. 'Click'. She hands the gun back to him and sits down.
*However* - in my opinion this is not an especially notable exchange. As much as I support Obama and Hillary's positions compared to his, it looks to me like he opened with the typical right-wing idiocy trying to make an issue out of nothing, even repeating his carefulll scripted talking points about the socialist disctator and his faux 'concern' about the president being used for propaganda - intentionally or not (interesting that he suggests Obama might be willingly volunteer for propaganda Can't trust them muslims.)
A weak, hot air attack. Hillary responded with calm cliches - nothing interesting. Loves her country since she was a little girl, serving her president, working for American interest...
In other words, she responded with a light, two finger slap, that knocked him to the ground only because the attack was pathetic. There's a hell of a lot better discussion going on.
