HIIT workouts

While I've only been doing a couple days of cardio a week (at most) recently, when I do HIIT it's 20 mins on the stationary bike, 2 mins @ 50% 2 mins @ 90%, rinse repeat. I can always make it to 16 minutes, but it's dicey if I can do the full 20. I nearly puked in a recent attempt.

HIIT is tremendously effective but it absolutely sucks to do.

Lately I've been doing 1 min at ~12 mph, 2 min jog at 6 mph. I try to do that for about 25+ mins. Also, I've done the higher intensity sprint, which entails 15 seconds of sprinting, 45 seconds of rest for as many reps and I can do. The sprinting one is way harder for me, even though I'm a sprinter. You have to maintain such a high intensity that you fatigue quite quickly.

3 miles under 18 minutes, at my size that's plenty a HIIT for me. Last half mile I go as fast as I can, I know I am there when I start throwing up.
