So, did you even read the article before mashing your fingers down on the keyboard? Also, hosting pig races is probably in the top 10 reasons to be considered a redneck/hick.

Yes, I did, I read the original article posted a couple of days ago. Oh, and thanks for giving me a snippet of the definition of a hick.

He is doing it to piss a group of people off and you are suggesting it is "OK"?
The entire point of the pig race is to bother people.

So what the hell are you defending? Pig racing is a redneck sport.

Are you defending rednecks or his actions to bother someone? Cause if you are defending rednecks we are not denying he is one. ...

Either way.. wow

Yet we see plenty of defense here for Islam, and people suggesting that I be locked up for daring to mention that we should outlaw and banish an organization of violence whose radical members have declared war against us with their foreign state sponsors.

So have it your way, defend rednecks or defend Islam. Only one has sworn to kill you and whatever side you pick I?ll guarantee that they will make good of your support and meet their goals. I for one, would rather see Pig Races.

So by agreeing that a mosque be built I am defending Muslims?

OK then I rather defend a Muslims right to live a happy normal life in the U.S. Why the hell would I want to wish harm on people? I am not sick.

Are you suggesting the Muslims who are building the mosque have been sworn to kill me and you? I would love to see you prove that.

You are the one who is suggesting negative behavior. Not the people who you claim are out there to cause negative behavior. So who do we watch out for? Verdict: You.

I recall reading where Saudi Arabia has been taking advantage of US laws (Freedom of religion) by sending Imams to build Mosques all over the US. A lot them are like empty parking lots but Saudi Arabia doesnt care as they have trillions of dollars to spend and want to spread the Islamic faith all over the world.

I am not religious at all, but in my opinion Islam is greatest religion of intolernace and hate. They treat thier women like second class citizens and in some cases animals are treated better in some countries.

I say if Saudi Arabia wants to build a mosque in the US then they should allow Americans to build a Church in Saudi Arabia. For every Mosque here there should be a church there. Off Coarse that will never happen as Saudi Arabia like many racist muslim countries only allow Islam and no other religion to be practiced.

I know! They can settle it with a game of beer pong. Houston vs. Islam. If there is a tie, they can resolve it with a tie-breaking pig race.

You will never find a large mosque like they have in Muslim nations in the U.S.

You are not going to find a large Mosque in the U.S with a dome unless it is in a city where the majority of people are Muslim (where they have power in their county/city - elected officials)

I wouldn't be surprised if the mosques that do exist with the domes on the top (if they exist) in the U.S are hidden away from public. Probably behind a bunch of trees.

The mosque that opened up across the street from my house, it took them 10 years to build because they were not trying to let them build a mosque. Eventually on the 10th year the population of Muslims increased 5x and they seemed to have gotten some power. Now they have a small mosque that is kind of hiddden behind a shopping center.

There are also several other mosque in this area that are huge, but they are all hidden. They are not visible to people driving by on the streets. The ones that are visible look like a typical H.S.

My point is the county officials are not going to open their arms for a huge mosque to be built in the midddle of a city in plain site with a large dome on top of it. I am sure they can bring up a bunch of B.S to stop such construction or slow it down. If it is hidden then I dont think anyone cares. & there is no point for someone to keep building hidden mosques for the purpose of having a lot of mosques .. waste of $

While I have no problem with building a mosque, your statement about not having domes is incorrect. See examples here:
Toledo OH
Rochester NY
Tempe AZNorthbrook IL
Harper Woods MI
Abiquiu NM
New York NY
Houston TX
Washington DC
More in this list . .

See this chart for the rate of increase of mosques in the US. Massive increase in the 70's, 80's and 90's

And, as to your assertion that "there is no reason for Saudi Arabia to do that", here is the website of the King of Saudi Arabia
http://www.kingfahdbinabdulaziz.com/main/m460.htm
Under King Fahd, Saudi Arabia has given support to the following institutions in the United States:

* Dar al-Salam Institute
* Fresno Mosque in California
* The Islamic Center in Colombia, Missouri
* The Islamic Center in East Lansing, Michigan
* The Islamic Center in Los Angeles, California
* The Islamic Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey
* The Islamic Center in New York
* The Islamic Center in Tida, Maryland
* The Islamic Center in Toledo, Ohio
* The Islamic Center in Virginia
* The Islamic Center in Washington
* The Islamic Cultural Center in Chicago
* King Fahd Mosque in Los Angeles
* The Mosque of the Albanian Community in Chicago
* South-West Big Mosque of Chicago
* Umar bin Al-Khattab Mosque in Los Angeles
Let me also point out something you may not be aware of. When ANY ship goes to ANY port in Saudi Arabia, ALL literature & material pertaining to non-islam religions (this includes small wall hangings or symbols that the crew have in their personal cabins) has to be put in a locker which is sealed by customs on arrival and cannot be opened till the ship has departed Saudi waters. Even a crumpled picture of, say, a christian symbol thrown in the trash bin is forbidden. All personnel concerned with the work of the ship are not allowed to board till the customs have done their inspection and sealed the forbidden materials.

And the irony is, in most cases specially tankers, the crew is not allowed to step off the ship - even on to the dock to read the ships draft.

Tolerance & Saudi don't go together in the same sentence - and the reason? Could it be that Saudi is a Wahhabi nation?

No one is saying he can't have pig races, they are saying he is an idiot because of why they are having pig races. Pigs are not like garlic to vampires, they just don't eat pigs, they aren't scared of them. You are like CPA, you both are completely missing the point of the article and are focusing on the pig races.

edit:

Why We Rarely Hear from Moderate Muslims

Jamal Miftah, a Muslim who lives in Tulsa, wrote a column for the newspaper Tulsa World condemning Al Qaeda and calling on fellow Muslims to reject terrorism.
In return, he was kicked out of the local mosque by leaders until he apologizes for his article?and threatened with violence by other members of the peaceful Islamic community of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Peaceful enough for you eh? Anyone of them who renounces Al Qaeda is rejected by their peers and banished from their Mosques. This is not the first peace loving Muslim that the radicals here in America have thrown out into the street and he will not be the last. Only the violent need attend.

We do not need them preaching violence in our home and to our people. No single religion should be allowed to do it, and all who do so should be banished if they refuse to reform.

That was in response to borosp1's post about Saudi funding of mosques in the US. People may not defend Saudi ideology but you don;t see them refusing financial support form SA - or all those mosques would not have been given the funding.

BTW SA is not the only Islamic country with such restrictions as I posted - just the most severe.

Nothing wrong with domes. It's an architectural style thats popular not only with mosques - US Congress? That was in response to Aimster's post (see below). I was just trying to point out there were plenty mosques with domes in US.

Fred Phelps represents all Christians worldwide. Same with the abortion clinic bombers.
