I just talked to staples rebate center. They gave me a phone number for HI-TECH. It's 201-848-9708. I called this number. The guy said that I didn't send the original UPC code. I told him that I sent in the original and I do have a copy of it. He said that since the program has ended there is nothing he can do about it. So good luck guys!!!. I am going to the store where I purchased and see what they can do. He also said that the offer period ended on 12/18/01. It takes 12 weeks from that date. . I am going to go back to staples and see what they can do. Hope this helps at least to find out your rebate status

I called the 877 number listed. The CSR had heard a lot of complaints already.
He told me to take my receipt and information to the store I purchased it at,
and they would take care of it.

I went to the store and talked to a manager. The manager took down all the information and copies of the receipt and UPC and told me that the sales manager will get in touch with me tomorrow as she is not in today. I will wait until tomorrow and see what happens.

I call all the numbers posted from this thread. The 877-266-6483 (or the CSR) was no help at all. The 877-549-9794 from Staples.com gives me a very nice lady CSR (forget to get her name). She said this company has some problem with the rebate. Then she asked for my name, addy, and UPC number, and entered this in the system. Promised me I should get the check in 4-5 weeks directly from Staples and I can track it in the Staples' rebatecenter site.

FYI - I simply called the Staples rebate center back in January and they already knew about the HI-TECH rebate problems. I was told that Staples was going to pay the rebates and the csr asked me when I purchased and the store/receipt numbers from my Staples receipt. She said I would receive my rebate in 4-6 weeks and gave me a r\tracking number. I received the rebate check 10 days later.

You did very well and you may have been a bit lucky. I had to talk to three different CSRs at the Staples Rebate Center this week before I got one that knew what was going on. So now I'm in the "You'll receive your rebate in 4 to 6 weeks" group.

I called Staples Rebate, and they said they were handling the rebate for teh Hi-Tech cd's, but only knew about the 50 cd one... I told him that if Hi tech wasn't handling the 50 cd one, then why would they handle the 100 cd one for $25... he agreed and said I should get a check "in the form of a postcard" in about 4-6 weeks.

I called Hi-Tech and they said it takes 12 weeks, which would technically put me in march, but says all looked okay for
the rebate.

I am not intending to screw company, and just want one rebate, but if I get 2, that would be sweet... they would be awesome for them to pay me $25 since BB paid me $10 to get the TDK 24x, which actually (the rebates) arrived today.

Do the CSR's at staples just make up information or what? They seriously need to give them a database that has step by step instructions for each rebate. Every person who calls seems like they had a different answer. My CSR actually knew that there were 50 packs and 100 packs, but said that Hi-Tech is now handling them again and it would be 6-8 weeks, not 4-6 like the ones staples handled. Also I asked for contact information, but she didn't have any for them. Wish mine got handled through staples so I could track it. Called Hi-Tech at 201-848-9708 and it seems like it is just one guy handling all these rebates. I got an answering machine with a message alongs the lines of Yo, I not here so leave a message. Doubled checked to make sure I called the right number and I did. Either I'm never going to see my money or I'm gonna end up with multiple checks. All this for some crappy CDRs. Should listened to the people who said not to do it. Oh, well.

I just talked to a very helpful Staples CSR (who knew what the hell was going on) at the 877 549-9794 number. She took down my name, address, phone number, date of purchase, and UPC number. Then she gave me a confirmation number and told me I would be receiving a check for $25 in the "form of a postcard" within 30 days. :D

I went for the simple way. I just called the Staples Support Center and told the CSR that Hi-Tech never sent me the $25 check for the 100-pk CDR rebate. The CSR told me Staples has been aware of this issue and trying to solve this problem. She took information and asked me to verify the UPC. Then I was given a tracking# for this rebate and was told the check should be arrived within 4~6 weeks. All the CSR did to me just made me shuddup. What else can I do beside beliving in what she said and wait for the check to come?! By the way, when I asked who should I contact in future regarding this rebate, she said I can always call the same number which is (877)549-9794 if I still have any problems regarding this Hi-SH!T rebate. It seems like Staples is gonna handle the rebates by their own.

Edit, The best number to call is 877 549-9794, It is Staples. Staples is now taking over for this rebate.
