What can I say, car threads attract me :)

I'm going to have to side with Brandon here (Sorry Viper ;)...), the 550 just doesn't do anything for me. And I'm so glad BMW killed the 850, it was an overweight, underperforming expensive POS.

The 355 was an extremely beautiful car, however it can be outperformed by a stock 996 in many situations. From those that have owned it however, the F355 is generally considered to be more fun to drive than any Porsche.

Now the 550 is a more powerful car than the 355, but the thing is just too bulky and the looks, again, just don't do it for me.

Once you factor in the 360, the most beautiful car ever made, the 550 begins to look more and more like an ugly duckling. The only good thing about the 550 is its interior build quality, which dwarfed the 355, but luckily the 360 helped to bridge that gap as well as the performance gap.

Just my $0.02, oh and btw, F360 Spyder = mmmmm.... ;)

Take care,
Anand

Viper,

I was comparing the BMW 850CSI to the Ferrari 550 Modena.

As for the 550 Maranello "not doing it" for NFS4 and Anand...well...psh tosh:p It's a fantastic Ferrari and one of the most spectacular Ferrari's ever designed. It is a GT car from start to finish and was never intended to be the most exciting Ferrari nor fastest. It was built to whisk the driver from point a to point b in a extremely quick and comfortable(HEAVILY STRESSING COMFORTABLE) manner.

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL CAR!! IMO...much better than the also beautiful, but not as beautiful, 456GT

The 355 was everything the disappointing 348 wasn't. For $148K the 348t was a subpar car that could be out performed by the likes of the puny 40K Chevrolet Corvette. It was thought back the, when you bought Ferrari, you bought fastest and most pleasureable damn car in the world. They're not the fastest, close enough, but they are exciting. I think the 355 was the car that got Ferrari to build much better and much more exciting automobiles. Who would of thought that Ferrari would provide automatics and the F1 shifter 10 years ago? Back then, it was Metal Gated shifter or it wasn't a Ferrari at all.

The 360 Spyder looks great and all...but I dunno...it just doesn't look "Dino"ish. I'm old fashioned I guess. I also don't have $100K or look 100Kish to get to test drive this cars:(

It's actually just a rehashed 456 using the same basic tube frame and engine--not that that is a bad thing :p

NFS4,

yea...keep telling yourself that. Better yet...tell that to the designers who took a lot of time getting the car to be as perfect aerodynamically as possible:p

550 Maranello weight: 3700lbs
456GT weight: 4400:

The 550 is just a rehash, eh? While they may be the same, the power output is different. Say 40hp different:) in a much lighter car.28cd versus .34(I think) drag. yea...rehash.

REHASH MY ASS!!!:p

It's still a rehash, same frame chopped up ;) Just like the PT Cruiser is a rehash of the basic Neon chassis :)

So Anand, two questions
1.) When are you going to be picking up your own 360? :)
2.) Can I pay you to even ride in it? hehe

Lupin, if I see your little gnat of a car driving down 255/270, I am gonna run it off the road. Oh, and I better had not see those annoying blue lights in my eyes at night time.

The BMW 850 is a peace of cr@p, literally! I hated that car so much; it wasn?t worthy of the BMW name. Base price was like $119,000, and what's up with the front headlights? Now I am not liking the Z8, but that?s another story :Q

The Modena 360 is gorgeous, the Maranello 550 is ok, but I hate the fact that it?s a front engine car. As for Lamborghini?s, they only second to Bugatti's (the EB's still kick ass). Oh my, and the upcoming Canto, that thing will rip every Ferrari in sight.
