I just weighed my laptop on it and then thought, oh sh!t, what if I just put my HDD 1/4" away from a magnet.

lol, you could just weigh yourself..then weigh yourself holding the laptop, or anything else for that matter, and get the difference and you have the items weight.

Clean this mess up before we all go to jail
Those test tubes and the scale
Just get it all out of here
Is there gas in the car
I think the people down the hall know who we are!

Why are you weighing your laptop?
It just felt lighter than 4.5 lbs to me so I wanted to see.

well....was it?
It was too light to detect it so I had to do it the way the other guy suggested, and yes, it added 4 lbs (scale doesn't do decimals).

Shouldn't matter anyway.

Unless your scale is based an super industrial magnets or something...

cheap ass chinese piezoelectric strain gauge transducers used in common washroom scales do not emit spurious magnetic fields sufficient to even wipe a charge card stripe let alone a laptop hard dick.

I think I'm hearing a buzzing noise after I use the right side of my touchpad to scroll the scrollbar.

Actually, I think I've experienced this on my desktop before. Certain times when the sound was turned way down, due to some kind of interference or something, I would hear a slight buzzing noise through the speakers when I did certain things like opening a folder or scrolling the scroll bar.
