a magnet that could affect your laptop..through a plastic case and then a laptops case/harddrive case would be EXTREMELY strong.. u wouldn't miss it.

The scale didn't do anything, all hard drives have very powerful magnets inside them anyways.

It definately has at least a small magnet in it. You probably dont need to worry.

no, I've had this thing come up on certain machines. Sometimes on my IBM I'm scrolling down normally and I can hear a buzzing sound (which comes from the speakers), how do you solve this? Mute the sound, problem solved but it's a pita because sometimes you don't want sound muted.
