Dell gx280

only thing it has extra from dell's specs is the x300 vid card for dual monitor support

also have a dell d800, that is pretty sweet, stock it plays farcry beautifully, hosts farcry and allowing you to play at the same time with no lag

This was my upgrade from a Gateway

166mhz Pentium with MMX
some random ISA graphics card whose company doesnt exist anymore
32mb ram
2GB harddrive
NOOOOO! you now have the title for slowest CPU speed. overall though, I think mine is weaker. that video card is a powerhouse and pretty much puts you over the top. 😛

Currently an HP box with a p4 2.4 and *sigh* 256mb of ram.
My typical Ram usage is about 350 to 500 MB, I really want 256mb, but instead they installed a second PC (old Celeron with 128mb of ram) and a KVM. I can have some tasks running on the second PC rather then the first to lighten the load a bit. 19inch CRT Monitor supplied.
I brought in my own keyboard and mouse since they have some silly HP keyboards, and not IMB Model M keyboards.

HP Desktop
Intel P4 2.6ghz
504 MB of RAM <--- I don't understand this 504mb of ram...
40 gb hd
Intel Extreme...this kills me
19 inch crt, my eyes are getting killed.

Dell GX260 box w/2.66Ghz P4
1GB RAM
80GB HD
Appian RV100 (Radeon 7000?) based dual monitor card w/ 2 17" CRTs.

WOO HOO! Just 4 months ago, it was an old IBM Intellistation P3-700 w/256MB RAM, 8GB HD and an old Matrox dual monitor card.

Whatever I want within reason.. I have a Barton 2500 now which runs fine, so I haven't even bothered asking for an upgrade... that and the fact with a work PC it's a bit of a hassle..

Specs are:

Barton 2500
1GB Kingston PC3200
2x200GB Seagate hard drives
LG 16X DVDRW
LG 16X DVD-ROM
GeForce4 MX420
Acer 17" LCD (AL1715)
onboard audio
Asus A7V880 mobo

Dell Optiplex GX280
2.8GHz P4
512MB RAM
40GB SATA HD
20GB PATA HD (extra storage)
Onboard Video & Sound
16x DVD/CD-RW
2x 21" CRTs 😀

I bought:

Sony 21 CRT
Pentium 2.2Ghz
1GB Corsair Value Ram
Geforce4 MX420
Seagate 7200RPM 80 GB Drive

and charged it to the company. Works great for MS Office/Project/Firefox and Paydirt (civil construction estimting software).

Gateway 816GM
Athlon 3400+
1 gb RAM
double layer DVD burner
200 GB HDD
Geforece FX 5200
1 20" NEC LCD xtraView+
1 19" Gateway LCD

You'd better be doing the work of 2 people! 😉

I just have 2 seats.. one on the trading floor and one in an office..

P4 1.7, 2 GB Ram , 40 Gig hd. Bleh, pretty boring right? But here's my pride and joy:

Matrox G450 dual head video card and two Hp 2035 LCD monitors. Beats my 19" CRT at home!

Which box? 😛

The one I use primarily:

FX55
PCIe card (whatever I choose to put in the box..currently it's a X800XT PE)
2GB Ballistix
2x74GB Raptors
2 DVD-RW Optical Drives
2405FPW (hugged by 2001FPs on each side)

I'm surrounded by 7 other PCs (4 directly at my feet, and another 4 just to the right of me that I use)
2400+ XP (256MB Parhelia installed driving the 3 monitors above as well)
P4D 830
FX53
Dual 2400+ MP
Dual Opteron 240
4600+ X2
Dual 2.8GHz Xeon

It would take too long to list the specs of all the boxes, but you get the point. 🙂

-3GHz P4 with 1GB ram, 17"LCD, 17" CRT
-IBM T30 laptop (don't remember the specs)
-Blackberry 8700, 7105, 7100t and 7100g

not really at work but the comps in uni

Viglen P4's with HT usually 3.0Ghz
1gb or more of ram
some mid range Quadro FX graphics
19inch Iiyama prolites

in the library we have 3Ghz P4 HT dells, with 512 + ram, on board graphics, 17inch dell tft's and dells really cool ultra minimal keyboards...the one that has minimal plastic round the keys

In my office, I have:

Thinkpad T42p, 14" (1400x1050)
2ghz, 2GB RAM

IBM Intellistation
Dual P-II 400mhz, 320MB RAM
Matrox Millennium II, 8MB
This is my main machine, believe it or not.

Since I do device driver development, I have a number of development machines that I can treat as my own but I generally don't keep them in my office.

IBM xServer 226
Dual 3.2ghz Xeon, 2GB RAM

IBM xServer 235
2.4ghz Xeon, 512MB RAM
I have a couple of these with various operating systems

IBM xServer 360
Dual 1.8ghz Xeon, 4GB RAM

HP j6750
Dual 850mhz PA-8700+, 2GB RAM

HP C3000
Dual 400mhz PA-8500 (maybe 550mhz), 512MB RAM

A couple Power4-based IBM RS6000s whose specs I don't recall

Edit: Oh, and I have a Pentium 133 (not mmx) sitting powered-off in the corner. It's somehow fallen through the cracks of the company's inventory system so it technically doesn't exist 🙂

There were beefier workstations but I believe my coop one was:

Dell

3Ghz P4
1GB RAM
Windows Server 2003
19"LCD (hah, some of the real developers didn't have one yet and were jealous!)

We'll see what I have when I go back in the spring and they're in the new building.
