In reading the "what web-authoring tools do you use" thread, I came to the conclusion that a great many of you think that notepad is the only text editor in the world. In fact notepadis a horrid editor for any type of code. When people talk about emacs, ultraedit, or my preference, editplus, they're not talking about WYSIWYG editors, they're talknig about real text editors, written for programmers.
Here's some screenshots of what a REAL text editor should look like.

Now please, before you start pushing notepad as the god of all text editors, learn what a real text editor is like.
Oh, and the "I use notepad because I've always used it... it came out first" excuse isn't valid either, VI and EMACS have been around a lot longer than notepad.
