Not true, latex will protect you from the virus, although the "natural" skin is too porous to do so.Originally posted by: Tominator

They are not worth a crap.
Actually, none of them are curable AFAIK. The virus is pretty much with you forever once you contract it; the variation comes with how or if it expresses. You could have sores and such, but a lot of people who have it are asymptomatic.....part of the reason it spreads like it does. Most forms of Herpes are not curable.

Last time I checked they weren't making condoms that covered your entired abdomen.Herepes comes from the surrounding area like the labia, inner thigh, abdomen. Not the inside of the vagina. Liberal propaganda teaching children and adults that stds are prevented by condoms.![]()

"Liberal propaganda", my ass. More like bible-beater propaganda trying to scare people into not having sex. The virus needs to come in contact with a mucous membrane or some other kind of break in your skin in order to infect you. I don't know about you, but I don't have mucous membrane on my inner thigh or abdomen. The only mucous membrane guys have down there is the urethra......which would be nicely covered with latex. Take your obvious ignorance elsewhere please.

Sex with multiple partners IS dangerous. Has nothing to do with religion.
You are misinformed about what you're talking about. My dad has std herpes on his lower chin. Last time I checked he didn't have a mucous membrane on his lower chin. And you think the fluid from a herpes blister can't get transfered to the base of the penis from over the lip of the condom?
Are you telling me that circumsized males can't get herpes? They don't have any mucuous membranes left on their penis.
Herpes Pic 1 - non-mucous membrane
Herpes Pic 2 - non-mucous membrane
Because of the sex itself, or simply walking with your legs brushing against each other, you will have un-noticeable breaks in the skin in the leg area. Herpes is spreadable just before an outbreak occurs. Doesn't have to be any broken blisters.

You're saying he's misinformed and you're calling it "std herpes"?? Hmm...

Actually, they just announced a vaccing yesterday, won't be available for a few years though, testing, etc. Strange thing is, it doesn't work on men! I'm looking for links now..
HERE it is ...
?If you did universal vaccination of 11 and 12-year-old women, you would eventually see an impact on the spread of herpes in both men and women,? he said.

Well I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack - I don't remember which # is each. I was going to say that he doesn't know what he's talking about, but he DOES know what he's talking about, but for some reason he's still defending safe sex. Fausto correctly pointed out that herpes can be spread to areas of broken skin but then he implies that you can't get it in your inner thigh.
I just wanted to point it out that you can.
