My only question is this. He can chop their heads open and see what their "powers" are, but how does he do it so fast?

And how does he cut their heads open without touching them? Is that a power he got beforehand?

He uses the power he got from the first guy (Brian) in the watch shop to slice their heads open. We don't know 100% how he actually gets the powers, but from last nights show we do know that his power is to see "whats wrong" with something and to "fix it/put it together so it works" since he was using it on the watches/clocks.

Assuming Sylar Killed the professor, did Sylar absorb everything the prof knew about finding the mutants and now knows how to find everyone?

that was his original power, to see what was "wrong" in people's brains........don't know if the professor had any powers.....i don't think he can absorb information.

He can now that hes gotten the waitress.

I don't know that he actually got the waitress. Its hard to tell with the way they did the cuts from the episode, but that memorial on the wall went up really really fast if Sylar had just killed her a few minutes ago in the diner. My guess is that her destiny was changed and she got to do some of her traveling and then died from her anyuerism(sp).

Well, his sister-in-law mentioned that he was "empathic" which taken to the extreme is his power and he did have that dream about the accident.

this is waht confused me.... did Hiro change Charlie's destiny by having her die by an anyuerism as opposed to sylar or is the show telling us that charlie was going to die anyway because of the disease in her brain?

The anyeurism was just to make us all feel less sad about her impending demise.....i.e. she was going to die anyway.

Also, he may not be able to change the past but he may be able to have others change the past which is what he's done.....contact peter and the artist and give them instructions. As he said, the power is greater than him, so it can stop him from changing things, but it can't stop others.

It seemed more like the later. He didn't say he couldn't change what happened so much as he said He couldn't save her. Plus I think Hiro disappeared right when they were about to kiss... she may not have ended up taking the trip after all.

Of course, I have no idea :D

Yea, just like he was taking apart watches and seeing the inner workings, I think he can do the same with others' brains and either mimic them or absorb them.

It's too bad that Charlie girl couldn't be saved, but I knew she was just a side character due to her "passive" power. Her power isn't too exciting and wouldn't be too helpful to the plot.

Just a theory, but I don't think the timeline got altered at all from Isaac's paintings. Peter hurt infront of the high school, dead cheerleader (Claire's friend), all have been accurate. I don't think Sylar is the villain, he has no motive to blow up NYC. Besides, it would make everything too easy, since he was easily subdued by the Haitian and Eden.

Bump for tonight's episode. If they don't finally deliver on SOMETHING, I'm out.

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out:laugh:

I'll be gone so fast the door won't even have time to open. I'm so tired of the long, drawn out advertising blitzes that end with 2 seconds of concrete material at 9:57, immediately followed by the start of the next week's campaign.

Not to mention the fact that you get 3 minutes of commercials to every 1 minute of story.

Heroes pisses me off.

How about you put the "crap taking face" on and transport two months into the past before Heroes ever came on, then not watch the show at all and save us all the trouble :D

:roll:

Wow... I am SO sorry to have formed an opinion that differs from your own, Mr. Imfallinginlovewithmyroommatebecausehelookskindalikeawhitemohinder. :D

Neato! I can tack a smiley face onto the end of an unwarranted attack, too!
For someone that keeps bitching about the show, you sure are sticking around quite a bit :D :p ;) :) :laugh:

I already said I was giving it one last chance. The only (two whole!) replies since then have been in response to your childish fanboy attacks. What's wrong... people can't have their own opinions when 1337 uber 60k-post forum whores are around? :D :p ;) :) :laugh:

[edit - forgot to tack on lame smilies in vein attempt to mask my naked aggression]

Since when does "alternate opinion" mean "thread crapping"? Several people have expressed their frustration over the marketing of the show, and it's not like it's just been naked bashing or anything like that. But whatever. Call it whatever you assholes want to. The world sure will be a fun place when everyone realizes that your view is the right/only one. I bet real life conversations are fun with you two.

"I like apple pie"
"I prefer cherry pie"
"Quit conversation crapping"

Morons.

That might have seemed a little suspicious to the dude from New York. "Hi, I'm a watchmaker, and my name is, uh... Gary Timex! Yeah, that's the ticket!"

Maybe Nikki isn't a "hero." Maybe her sister Jessica is doing a Deadman
by residing in Nikki. ASFAIK, Jessica could be a spirit and using supernatural strength.

So who do we have now (look 'em up on Wikipedia):
* Wolverine
* Mimic
* Flash (sort of because traveling between time appears to be fast?)
* Angel (except no wings)
* Encyclopedia Brown/Sage :) (dead, now absorbed into Sylar)
* Marvel Girl (Uhm, fat marvel man? dead, now absorbed into Sylar)
* Destiny
* Shadow Cat (Kitty Pride, and funny to mention this. Hiro says in his NBC blog that he has met his own Kitty Pride - except the real Kitty in the show is a buff black man)
* White Queen (as in reading people)
* Forge (split - dreamtime for the Indian kid and mech ability for Nikki's kid)
* Lilith

And is just me, but doesn't Claire's dad look like the government suit, Henry Gyrich?

Sorry about all the Marvel references, I used to know a lot of DC heroes...Maybe they can give us the Black Canary or Zoltanna! Yeah, babes in fishnets... :p

Yeah, seriously, they need to do a better job of explaining this. I mean, it took him 7 years to fix a damn wristwatch, but he can see mutations in the brain no problem?

I found it to be pretty obvious. All of these people have suddenly (in the last 6 months as in "Six Months Ago") begun to have their powers manifest. So the first thing that Sylars power happened to do was to finally help him finish that super tough watch. That is what the whole episode was about...

Interesting read on the real life Hiro....

And what I want to know is how does Claire's Dad and The Professor dude know aobut these people? How did they "track them down"? How would you find that dozen people or so that aren't even aware of their own mutations but you are?

He can't see their powers...he finds out about them and hunts them down. He has learned that devouring their brains passes the power to him.
