So how can Peter regenerate from a nuclear explosion? Wouldn't he pretty much incinerate? I mean, it's not like he's a T-1000.

I don't think Peter blows up as in he blows to bits, its just that the power comes from him and he is immune to the effects.

Exactly. Its not like he IS the bomb, but rather the epicenter of radiation. All the energy radiates from him, but doesnt affect him.

OK, that makes sense 🙂

I don't think Peter is dead. Though I think Nathan is dead. Nathan was the real hero but it still doesn't make sense why Peter just didn't fly right up himself rather than Nathan help him so Nathan did not have to die.

I think sylar was just picked up by the morgue or whatever and that was his blood smear.

It appeared to take on a life of it's own. As for Peter, like Ted; he had lost control of the nuke power and more than likely the rest of his powers (else he could fly himself). He was able to subdue Sylar prior to being unstable.

The new storyline seems interesting and again that helix symbol makes it's showing.

Sylar did not get shape shift abilities in this 'timeline'...that was based on him killing candance more than likely in the cheerleader died 'timeline'.

i think the general consensus is that peter was using all his energy to not explode so trying to channel another power would cause him to lose control before he could get far enough away.

At first, I was like

"WTF, how could Sylar go down so easily..."

Then I rewatched the portion where you see his last visions fly by in his eyes..

He was willingly stabbed by Hiro, you can see the smirk on his face. He knew he would get away, which was why he stopped the bullets, but not the stab.

Maybe Hiro is going to meet that old legendary dude? And maybe that dude has powers too. I forget his name.

or maybe the legendary dude (kensei, btw) is hiro's dad, whose power is immortality!

Kensei.

At first when Hiro went back, I thought maybe he would get stuck there and end up being Kensei. That woulda been an interesting twist.

I thought the same thing, he was going to be his own hero.

Parkman = Not dead, wearing a vest. Otherwise bullet's wouldn't have knocked him back (unless they use movie physics)

Nathan = Crazy, could've have flown his brother up very very high and let him drop, exploding on the way down while he was safe.

Claire = Hot

Noah = Seriously?

Hiro = Teleport closer than 400 years away....and blind for looking straight at the eclipse

Worse than the Boogeyman = New Character

Sylar = Not Dead

Ando = Back at work coding

DL = Still Bleeding

Sandra Bennet = ?. not seen since the run in with the agency

Candice = ?, but assume that the form we see her in most is her true form now.

Haitian = ?, possible "worse than the boogeyman"

Heidi Petrelli = Single now?

Audrey Hanson = Would've thought she would've played some role in this

Deveaux = What is his power and how was linderman "betting" on Nathan?

Save the cheerleader, save the world = Before this episode, it made sense that this referred to stopping the transfer of Claire's power to Sylar. Now, it seems that it may refer to her "goodness" or "conscious" in convincing Nathan in his office that he needs to do something.

I also believe she could've shot Peter to stop him temporarily, but he probably would've had a reoccuring chain reaction problem.

Real heroism is faith in yourself, faith in the world and those around you...the key is they failed to make that point come across smoothly.

They could've done more with the congressman and such....way more.

But that would mean he is his own great great grandfather who fvck his own great great grandmother and eventually is his own great great grandson...

My wife speclates that Peter couldn't fly himself because he was being overwhelmed by absoring all so much (and so many) power(s) at once. I seem to remember something similar happening previously when absorbing too much...

My question is why not just knock him out. Dosen't that seem to work as well?

Damnit though..they could've done so much more.

In the end none of main players seemed very heroic. They exhibited much emotion, but no clear, realistic prerogative besides pondering fate to its seemingly inevitable or wavering conclusion.

Peter's brother was the only Hero, but his actions did not exhibit a variance in character large enough to impress the audience; to truly express an effective magnitude of unquestionable selflessness.

My point is that heroes or not, the lack of certainty, the actual belief in the possibility of uncertainty, which most of them exhibited, was not exploited enough.

What were those visions? It went by too fast for me to catch it.

It's like the show producers decided to half-ass it to save money because they know we'll watch regardless. It could have been so much better considering all of the abilities the two of them had.

maybe they're saving the super-fight for season 5, when Sylar becomes president 😛

I liked it. They could've answered a few more questions though. Like, how had the explosion been planned so far ahead of time? How has the company been corrupted in recent years? and wtf were they created to do?

Season Finale - 7/10
Whole Season 1 - 9/10

And, I'm not ashamed to admit, in the teaser ending, for a split second, I had hope that Hiro would be facing a T-rex 😱😉

I'm speculating that the writers 'redeem' him* in the alternate timeline by killing him off as he flys exploding Slyar out of harms way.
I got this half right.:cookie:

I tell ya, with that awesome Five Years Gone episode, we all had high expections with the season finale. For some of us it fell short.

Sylar has always been hard to kill: he fell off the building at Homecoming; got shot twice so hard he flew back into Noah's frig; and survives a Samurai sword run thru this mid-section. A human cockroach indeed! And all this without Claire's brain.

Writers didn't go Ando and Parkman any justice by sending them after Sylar. At least Parkman has Hero fighting (Niki) experience and wields a gun. Ando should've known he'd be canon fodder just wielding a sword.

Looked like the Samurai Lord was Sulu.
