I'm finally getting to play some more HoN - one of my friends back home has an entire group that plays private games every night, so it's a nice way for me to acclimate (and get my head around the "okay, he's so-and-so in DotA so I need these items..."). Some of them are decent, others will probably never truly be good, but at least there aren't any leavers.

One invite to the first person who has either had an account for 6 months or has 250 posts, whichever comes first. PM me. (I love making these requirements 😛)

same complaints as myself and most who are veteran dota players.
they seemed to focus TOO much on graphics and overpumped sound effects and as a result, everything gets all garbled when there's a massive 5 on 5 battle and everyone uses their ult. you can't tell who's who, who's doing what, when you're stunned, etc.

and with all the fancy graphics, why couldn't they differentiate the heroes a little better? the colors are too similar. everyone looks the same.

that's actually the best part of the game. preventing people from making multiple accounts so they can come in and fvck games up on purposes without consequence.
it's something i hope blizzard does in their new games. limit each cdkey to one account.

they should have a realm where it does not track stats for things like this, but i don't know how many people will play in that realm.

the only good things about HoN compared to dota are getting a game started, allow disconnects to reconnect, stat tracking (discouraging leavers).
i don't care about graphics.

everything else, dota is superior at.
balance & number of heroes, cleanliness of the interface

gameplay wise, dota >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> hon

 
I've been playing a game or two every night for the last week, with some old friends...I'm getting better at finding items, but I still can't get my head around hero models and their respective counterparts in DotA. Which means, I don't know what an enemy hero can do, etc. It's fun, but rather frustrating.

Hopefully it picks up soon with more time spent in game.
 
I've been playing as Nymp lately but haven't made any friends in game to telly around for ganks. If anyone wants to play together name is same ingame (JTsyo). I don't play often, mostly weekends.

I played for a bit, but moved back to Dota. My main gripe was the team battles were almost impossible to follow. The graphics were nice, but in the end I prefer the simplicity of the WC3 engine.

If I tell you, can I get one for a friend? 😉 I've already given out my 3 keys 🙁.

1) Go to http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/
2) Enter your login information on the upper right.
3) Click "Play Beta" on the menu bar to be redirected to the beta site.
4) On the right side of the new menu bar, click "Invite"
5) Enter an e-mail address in the Email Address text box
6) Click Invite
7) Repeat steps 5 and 6 until it says "limit: You have reached your invite limit." or until all desired invites have been used.

Oh and in case you want my name on there, it's aikouka (not a surprise). I don't play terribly often, but I'm getting a little used to it. I don't really like playing with most of the player base though.
