Been having a problem with my computer, it has been driving me nuts for over a month now. Here is what I had first of all:
Abit KT7-Raid
Amd Tbird 800
SB Live Value
IBM deskstar 75gxp
256meg pc133 ram
Asus v7700 Geforce II gts 64 pure
Windows XP Pro
The problem I am having regards games.. I can play Wolfenstein and Unreal Tournment fine but I tried to use 3dmark2001se, unreal 2003, tony hawk 3 and a couple of other games and the graphics are all messed up.. when it starts displaying the menu or in game everything is out of place and flashing, you can't make out the picture.
Here's what I done:
First of all I thought it was software related.. so I formatted/re-installed Windows XP.. didn't help. Tried the det 20's, 30's and 40's for my video card and none of them made any difference. So I took it to a local computer shop.. they tried another geforce in it and an ati radeon.. they all did the exact same thing. They also tried flashing the bios, tried new ram, new power supply and tried it with all the other pci cards removed. They also tried it in Windows 2000.. still did the same thing.
So, they thought it must of been a bad agp slot on the motherboard.. so I got a new Abit kt7-raid board and the same problem happened. They sent that back and got me an ECS k7s5a board.. same thing on that as well. I also have a brand new power supply in it.
So basically it's not the motherboard, ram, video card, OS or drivers. What the heck else could this problem be? Is it possible that the CPU could be causing this? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
