Here come those tricky Liberals telling people what they want to hear:

Shortly after that moment his face began to peel off... like full on Indiana Jones here.

This would make a fun "Caption this" thread...

Aww, that almost seems generic by comparison.

IMO, as a party the Dems are weak on policy. Still, leaning the correct direction is better than rushing backwards unto madness. There are some... inequities in existing policies that make it difficult to appeal to a wider audience. The strings attached to benefit groups VS all, it pits needy / jealous people against one another and dampens a unifying spirit that could more easily win elections.

Just this morning a staunch conservative I know was raging over the illegal caravan story. His points? They receive benefits that he does not. It feeds into a life long story, the grand lie of the Reagan Revolution, that government merely exists to take from "you" and give to "others". "Others" like those damn dirty... that to protect yourself you must cut government to the bone. Anyways, it seems to me that more people are looking for help, it's just that they get caught up in old partisan politics and they don't know how to help themselves. Republicans keep throwing scapegoats at them to keep them too busy to see who the real enemy is.

If only we knew how to show them.

I am pretty big on ‘the liberals don’t know how to message thingi’, but the stuff in the link doesn’t come close to the hysterical notions of radical extremism ginned up by the hyperactive amygdala’s of our current crop of American conservatives.

Certainly not, but how would they tell the difference?

When their media is obsessing over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and constantly signaling the worst made up !@#$ VS Democrats. They take any fallibility among any one person, hype it up to 11, and then paint everyone with broad brushes. And it makes them feel good because, hey, they're staring down the "enemy", the "other" people. Partisanship at its best.

The propaganda is quite real, when next time Democrats hold something of value, the talk of deficits will return. As if they made them.

Only the individual himself or herself can make the decision to question this. In ordinary life one seldom has the occasion to do so but in these encounters we have here one who encounters many alternate views. To me at least, I would prefer to try to argue against what I feel is truly destructive by arguing that destructive bias is horrible but the person is not to blame for feeling that way. I believe early childhood made us into Stockholm Syndrome survivors, or contemptuous of them, all without conscious choice. We are built to feel disgust to injustice and inequality, but we can become aware that it is the behavior and the behavior only that we should condemn. My opinion anyway.

Yeah... Republican media has been increasingly but by no means newly painting ordinary Democrats as radical socialists. And if you read or listen, it's even compelling when you know better.

But I suspect their goal isn't to sway moderates to their side. They're targeting their own with the most aggressive messages. I suspect they hope to galvanize, energize, and isolate from criticism their base. And I think it's quite effective.

Well hopefully this will get the stupid assholes that couldn't be bothered to go check out the DNC's fucking website to see what their platform/ideas are, to shut the fuck up that Democrats aren't even telling people that.

It still utterly baffles me that people were going "whaaaaa I hate politicians marketing bullshit! Fuck the Democrats they aren't pushing enough marketing bullshit to me!"

Yea, it's like what people really wanted was some good ole fashioned hate and a chant
