Ingrown Hairs suck~

My hair on my chin and my lips grow back like 4-5 hours later~ ifi shave in the morning with an electric... and if i use a blade it comes back after about 12 hours~

I was man enough to wax the bad boys off~ and it was gone for several days~ which was very nice~ the pain however~ wasn't so nice~

I haven't tried cold water~ as I thought it would harden the hairs.. so i always used warm or hot with Gilette Gel and I use a Gilette Sensor Excel~ and I occasionally get ingrown hairs~

Try the water then, but give the hair a few minutes to dry so they don't curl as much. If you do decide to go electric and don't mind used, PM me.

I think it is just me, but the mach three turbo blades are practically identical to the old ones, except they have an extra fin. maybe sharper blades...who knows. but they are 2-3 bucks more.

You may also want to see a dermatologist. You might have a bacterial problem that's causing the problem. I had a similar problem, where it seemed no matter what I'd do, I'd get these damn hairs around the chin, sometimes on the jaw line, that seemed to leave these almost acne'esque bumps. I went to the dermatologist and he said I have "foliculeitis" or something. He put me on antibiotics for two weeks and that's supposed to clear it up.

Just a thought. Good luck!

UPDATE: Cold water didn't help. The electric razor did though. Kinda... Although the ingrown hairs on my chin are gone, I have some new ones in the corner of my mouth. Friggin eh...

What kind did you buy?

I had a similar problem and bought a Braun Syncro. Best shaver ever.

I have a Norelco 3-blade electric. I *could* pick up a straight-edge electric from Fry's, but can I return it if it doesn't help?

Never had a problem with ingrown hairs. For the closets shave, nothin beats the mach 3 razor. No electric can touch it. I use very warm water, and this causes ZERO irritation and gives me a smooth and clean shave. I highly suggest some Nivea after shave balm, this stuff makes your skin feel so good.

The Syncro has a 30-day "try-it-out" guarantee. If you don't like it, you can take it back.

But trust me, it's sooooooooooooooooooooo worth the money and you'll love it. Make sure you get one of the models with the base station that does the cleaning. Part of the reason I like it so much is because it is always nice and clean.

Cold water works well. Not shaving works better. 😉 I bought a Remington TFT w/3 blades. Works wonders for me.

Hope you learn something from this thread. 😀

Peace,
GermyBoy

if you think about it, humans were never meant to shave at all. It is not natural, I suppose trimming would be the only natural thing that humans could do, but shaving it itself isn't natural and that is why it causes irritation. but anyways, as a person who has tried em all (electric and regular) i keep comin back to my mach 3 razor.

you just cant beat the Mach 3 razor in terms of closeness and ease of use. I suggest you use WARM water and rinse with warm water. Cold water on the face is more prone to cuts and scratches.

Try shaving with cold water, it made a difference for me.

I eventually switched to an electric razor & don't get them any more.

Lucky bastard. I get ingrown hairs no matter what.

Anyone have experience with Nads.com in regards to removal of "other" unwanted hairs? 😛

I know someone who bought it, she said it's crap. Unless you are really hairy, waxing is still the way to go.
