i have d-link DI-624 and a d-link wireless card
i tried to do it myself and i couldnt get the computer on wireless to connect
d-link's support site is no help

the authentication options on the wireless card are open, shared, wpa, wpa-psk
router has none, wep, wpa, wpa-psk
so it'd have to be wpa or wpa-psk

i dont know how to set up wpa or wpa-psk....i tried router's wep with shared on the card (seem to be the same thing) and couldnt get it to connect

Setup WPA. I think you need a passphrase. Enter one. Then on the client connect to the network name (SSID) you setup, and put in the WPA passphrase you put in the router.

Certainly use WPA however a WEP mismatch or misconfiguation will not stop your client card from associating to the AP. You'll associate and send data, just not receive any.
