I'm not a racing fan, but a good portion of my family is...

In any case, I'm signature 12342.

To all the people saying "Why are you wasting your time" and such, you're wasting MORE time by complaining about it than it takes to click the link, type your name, and click another link or two.

And, "why don't you help the blah who die in car accidents every day"... Ok, sure, I'll go volunteer to be a traffic cop for the minute it took me to fill out the form. Why are you people HERE, and not out doing whatever it is you think an individual can do to stop people from dying in traffic accidents?

<< Dale was just another guy to hit the wall. Why are we celebrating a guy because he knows how to drive fast. There are plenty of people who die everyday from driving, why dont you help those people instead. Flame out. >>

We purposely told you guys no crappers yet they still come in. :|:|:|

This carries great sentimental value through the racing community. And you guys come in here and crap all over his name.

Earnhardt was THE GREATEST driver out there. He was a GREAT man that did wonders for his sport. You CAN'T deny that. If this had been Michael Jordan, you guys would be petitioning for a big-ass 50ft memorial in Chicago.

If it were Cal Ripkin, 50ft statue in Baltimore.

We are signing a petition to retire his number. Is that so hard to ask??? Is that too much trouble??? Can you NOT comprehend that?? We're not asking you to cut off two toes and bow down for the man, BUT SHOW SOME FRICKEN RESPECT!!!

Damn I wish I had some kind of teleportation device, b/c that mofo would be gettin' a workout tonight as I'd be making a few house calls...

I signed, and NSF4, if you can get that teleporter working, I'll donate some time to attitude-adjusting with you.

<< I do not understand why people on this forum have to immediately degrade something they don't agree with >>

In most cases they do this because they are but little kiddies without a care or responsibility to anyone/anything. Many have serious wakeup calls coming (and well-deserved).

To the thread crappers who say that Dale was just another driver that hit the wall, that is pure B.S. Just listen to a few of the personal stories from friends, fellow drivers, and others that are being related about what Earnhardt THE PERSON, not the driver, did. Anonymously paying for a church's new parking lot, free use of his jet for someone who needed it, a big supporter of the Make a Wish Foundation, sending an employee and his own 4x4 truck to Dr. Jerry Punch's house when his wife was 8+ months pregnant and all alone during a blizzard because Jerry was somewhere doing a football broadcast for ESPN, the list goes on and on.

But for me, what really made me view Dale as I now do, was another fateful day in recent racing history. On May 1, 1994, Dale won the Talledega 500 race. Earlier that day, the racing world suffered one of its worst losses ever - Ayrton Senna died in the F1 race at Imola. Earnhardt's first words in victory circle were to acknowledge the loss of Senna and what a great driver he had been. Dale might have been a NASCAR racer, but he knew and followed all forms of racing, and respected them.

And before any of you thread crappers want to attack Senna as just another driver who hit the wall, get off your lame a$$es and check out what the Ayrton Senna Foundation was (and still is, thanks to his sister) all about. Of course, if you've never seen the street children of Brazil (esp. Rio), you couldn't even begin to relate.

NFS4,

Your putting your foot down did not shut me up I had to go to work. Also where did I say I didn't care about Dale? Maybe you didn't bother to read everything I posted so I will say it again.

I have a lot of respect for Dale even though I did not like his style of racing but there are better things to worry about.

What does that have to do with this thread?? NOTHING. And that's why people are upset. We don't care what you think is worthy or not. If you don't think it's worthy, well fine...but don't rain on us b/c we feel that it is a worthy cause.

You know, there is a button that says "Post New Topic." Would have saved you a lot of trouble.

16572... not a huge racing fan, but i know how much of an important figure he was to the world of NASCAR racing. and i can only begin to imagine how much he meant for those who really cared for him. it's the least i can do.

There you go saying you have better things to worry about, while posting your SEVENTH reply to this thread (and your eighth farther down). For someone who has so many other better things to do, you sure seem to have a lot of time to repsond to this thread.

well, when you kick the farm, how good will it feel when no one gives a fat f**k about you? show some respect and show that you have more morals than what you are implying, so hard to believe coming from a diamond member.

The server is down right now, but I'm signing as soon as it lets me.

This whole scenario chokes me up every time I start to think about it.
I'll be a Dale Earnhardt fan for life and I'll continue to wear a #3 to every race I attend, no matter who I'll be cheering for.:(:(:(

A very tragic loss of the sports greatest competitor.
