sheesh this really defies the whole point of distributed computing...the whole idea was not based on someone owning 9 high end pcs just to have em do some kind of superficial race... you know they could build a beaowulf cluster a la google (damn slashdot is wearing off on me...) and crunch their stuff with lot less cost and evergy waste...

If you dont own them or dont have permission, you might get in to trouble.

SSP is absolutely correct.

This is the last paragraph of the "Rules":

If you attempt to run SETI on a computer that is not personally owned by you, then you must get the owner?s permission to run SETI. It is illegal to run programs such as SETI on computers belonging to someone other than yourself without their permission. I will not be responsible and will refuse to pay for WUs that are done in this manner.

I'd rather have the free computer if it's new.... :)

I set up a bunch of PCs at my old work and some of them are still kicking good because it looks like I still kick in about 30 WUs per day (47k total currently). Eventually it'll dwindle down to nothing though. Oh well.

No "New" computer given away here for running SETI or anywhere else that I'm aware of. :p :D

We have quite a few participants so far but we "need" more. Come on and join up. We need you help and you'll pick up a few bucks for the trouble. :)

ok here is my question?
lets just say i have a couple extra pcs, older ones, a 266 and a 350, sitting here in mothballs.
is it possssible to run multiple instances of seti at the same time on each of these machines?
i also have several thousand hours of cycles on an old account. can i give them to team atot?
