I didn't really bother reading, but I doubt you'd be willing to pay the cost that it would require to get me to run something as worthless as SETI on my computers :)

I used to have several of those running but you are right ... they are a little on the slow side compared to current machines. Thanks for the thought anyway. ;) :)

I'll look you up soon though because I might be upgrading sooner than I planned.

that was suggested during the energy "crisis" in CA. august sept. 2001, ;)

" For California users in particular: Because of the current electrical power crisis, we are requesting that SETI@home users located in California shut off their computers during Stage 2 and Stage 3 emergency alerts. Although SETI@home represents a tiny fraction of the state's power use, we should do what we can to conserve power when necessary. "

Well, TeAm AnandTech just got passed. :(

We need more help.

Quite a few people have taken me up on this offer but we need more. I am especially looking for people that have permission to run SETI on multiple computers.

Well dude....how much are you willing to spend here? Seriously. Will you pay someone over 600$ per year, because then you have to file a 1099 for them and the whole evil Taxes thing.

Just wondering....

I have a team that has only been running at about 40% for the past 3 months IHATEHUMANS team

Interested in having us?

Absolutely! Read the Rules ... remember only new WUs will count. :)

I doubt anyone account will be that high and if it looks like that would be a problem, we can always make separate accounts. ;)

There's no way to join my existing SETI account into Team Smokeball right? I'll just have to start over?

That's correct, your "prontospyder" account, 777) prontospyder with 602 WUs should remain with the TeAm. I would hope you would continue your production as is. I am not trying to get current TeAm Mates to switch to TeAm Smokeball, I am really trying to get new crunchers for TeAm AnandTech.

Now if there are current members of TeAm AnandTech that have stopped crunching and this offer inspires them to renew their efforts, then I would welcome them to do so for TeAm Smokeball. ;)

geez... have you considered that stamps are going to be a large percentage of your monetary output in this venture?

Yes, I've taken all of that into consideration. For the smaller contributors we might work out a PayPal option. Whatever it takes. ;)

There's room for many more participants. Got quite a few so far and some are working up groups.

We need more, more, more. :)
