Hello dear Anadtech readers,
Although I rarely post I am following the news and this website during the last 3-4 years and its now time to upgrade my aging FX-53 with 1GB RAM and X800XT vga
So here is the list I have come down and would greatly need your advice on these parts:
CPU: Core2 Duo E6600 (I want the 4MB cache and would like to o/c as high as possible)
RAM: OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8000 Dual Channel Titanium Alpha XTC Series DDR2
M/B: I am confused between P5W DH Deluxe and P5W64 WS Pro (money is not an issue for M/B and would like to keep it long. Is it possible that the P5W64 WS Pro might support SLI too in the future?
VGA: I want the best card possible and G8800s are close. What to do wait or get a GX2 or an ATI X1950XT-X? - What is best ?
MONITOR And here is the catch - I would really like to buy the 30" Dell LCD but I wonder if I get stuck with the extremely high resolution in relation to vga power. I also read about the scaling and that only Nvdia drivers work well. So what to do get it or go for the 24" inch Dell (I want a wide Monitor)
Please shed some light here since I will keep this system for 2 years at least (much longer for the monitor ofc)
Thanks in advance.
