Alright. It all happened two nights ago. I was playing FEAR on my PC. I go to a certain part of the game where I climb a ladder, and suddenly everything craps out. A sound is played over and over, and the screen has weird, silver static-esque particles in lines all over. I couldn't windows key out, so I had to manually turn off my computer.
THen, last night, I was playing FEAR again. At the SAME exact point of the game, it craps out again just like before. I turn off my computer AGAIN. THIS time, my monitor lights goes from green, displays "NO SIGNAL" in a blue box, then it goesi nto standby with an orange light. So I try plugging in my DVI cables again. My graphics card is an evga GeForce 7800GT. It has 2 DVI ports on it, and I try both. Still no picture. I then try using the other cable, D-SUB or something like that. I needed to use a D-SUB --> DVI Converter in order to plug it into my graphics card. Still no picture. I bring out another LCD monitor and plug it in, no picture.
At this point I call my friend and he suggests reinserting the gfx card, so I unplug everything and do so. Still nothng. My monitor works fine when plugged into my graphics card. Another friend tells me that my drivers for my gfx card or my monitor might have been deleted. If that's the case, then how the heck can I put them back in?
I'll try calling evga later..
EDIT: Also, it appears that my keyboard doesn't light up when I turn my PC on. I try hitting caps lock, num lock, etc. and no lights show.. ALso, my PC shut down by itself maybe twice while I was trying to figure stuff out after my monitor wouldn't show anything.
