Black Unchecks again F8-G8, I move be5
black's move BTW...
Kh7, Qh8+
Kg6, Qh5?
Kh5
or
Kh7, Bf3
Rg8, ...
1. Be5 Kh7
2. Qxh8 Kg6
3. Bf3 Qxd6(or any move)
4. Qg7#
So it delays the mate by 1.
That doesn't delay mate by 1. It's been #3 since the Be5 move. We weren't counting the Be5 move.
Black does have another move you have not considered
1. Be5 Rh7 (white doesn't even have a continuing check much less mate in 2)
It is still a won game for white but not mate in 3.
Yes WHITE HAS MATE in 3. You have no idea what you are talking about. Black can NOT extend it. I want you to make blacks moves.
1. Be5 Rh7
2. Bf1
Make your move
1. Be5 Rh7
2. Bf1 Rg7
Edit - I had considered Bf3 not f1. After Rg1 then Rxg1 is check giving black an extra move.
Edit 2 - Reconsidering with further analysis
1. Be5 Rh7
2. Bf1 Rg7
3. Rg1 Nxc5
4a. Qxg7+ Qxg7
5a. Rxg7 Kf8 - black is still alive though lost.
4b. Rxg7 Qxg7
5b. Qxg7# - mate in 4
4c. Rxg7 Kh8 - mate in 1 for white (total of mate in 4)
