Help me stop spending money

This is what happens when you spend some one elses money.. 🙁 My checking account had $1500 in it, now it has $100. I just bought a refrigerator due to my older one breaking and have been buying and selling expensive computer parts as of late. What I really need to do is sell all my crap in my room, problem is, the stuff I don't want I can't sell 🙁 Any ideas how I can make money/sell things (ideas on what to sell) etc..? My room is a mess and it's hard to clean it up when it's filled with crap.

You'd be surprised at what you can sell on craigslist. I had a whole bunch of old crap PC components laying around... durons, old athlons, kt-133 mobos, gf2-mx400 cards, sb lives, 20 gb hard drives... There was some newer stuff too, but I was mainly selling the old stuff. I had enough for 2 full systems and most of a third. Three days after I put it all on craigslist I had almost all of it gone and was about $600 richer.

Also, if you work, just work longer. More time at work = more money made and less time to spend earned money. Or you could just immerse yourself in an addictive PC game for a few weeks to curb any going out and spending.

Who would buy old stuff

i'm surprised at how little people have in their bank accounts...

of course, if you're still in school this doesn't apply to you.

I don't work and I'm in school. I'm lucky enough as it is to have excess money at all, problem is I've been spending it on computer parts. Hopefully, after I'm done with my 'binge' I won't have to buy any new computer parts for at LEAST 3 years (HOPEFULLY).
The following things I have bought in the past year.
laptop Optical Drive
laptop FDD
laptop Screen
Ram

motherboard processor combo (Meant to be sold)

Though there are definately some good things that have happened to me along the way. I in general take a while to make purchases due to me watching the market trends to see if it's 'climbing' or receding and during those times I have purchased things (on ebay).

Then, there is my luck of procrastination, two fairly large purchases a Video card ($400) and a refrigerator $190, the video card normally sold for $425/$450 but because I took so long, I managed to get in on a one week sale, which made it $400. The refrigerator, I took about a week of researching to figure out
1. What my old fridge was
2. What and where to get a new fridge. One thing I had to make sure though was that I could never break it again like I did (Punctured the internals so coolant came out), ended up finding a fridge that never needed to be defrosted again.

That 'perfect fridge' was more than I could ask for, nice look and didn't need to be defrosted. Turns out it was $300, not completely unreasonable but nonetheless required me to procrastinate some more, deciding whether to buy it or not. Then 2 weeks later (maybe more) I saw that exact same fridge being sold for $200. My jaw dropped and considered the fridge once again but continued to procrastinate, constantly checking the page. A week or so passed and voila, theres a sale, $10 off, I wait again as another week passes buy and then I finally jump the gun today and buy it.

So, procrastination can be good and bad, good if patience is a virtue, bad if you missed the right opportunity. My procrastination saved me $135, to waste it on something else

If you can get ATOT to pitch in $1500, I'll do it.

If you spend more time arguing with your family member you won't have time to spend any more money. Right?
Ofcourse that would mean you will create more threads with something in the title like:
My dad...
My sister...
My dad and sister...

I don't get craigslist. Everyone besides me seems to have great luck selling stuff on it but all I get is scammers from nigeria :disgust:
