BTW, here's an update.

Even though I supplied him with the PC version (which I actually own), he still ended up buying it.

He spent $100!!

He got the greatest hits version new in package with a strategy guide and some quick shipping. Unbelievable!

ePSXe has a bunch of filters to make the game look better. It loads faster off the hard drive too!

Just played that one on SSF (Saturn emulator). VERY good game.

Who cares? It's not your money, why do you care? If it's worth $100 to him, then it's worth it. If it's a brand new sealed copy, with the strategy guide, then it's worth a lot, even as greatest hits. If he regrets the purchase later I'm sure he'll be able to resell it easily. I personally own about 26 playstation RPG's, and I'd probably be able to get around $800 for them total. They are worth what someone is willing to pay for them.

Edit: Link to auction? I haven't seen any greatest hits auction go for $100.

I'm guessing that's the one.

tell him there's a rumor they're going to do a remake for the PS3.

They said that they were remaking VII, VIII, and IX for the PS2 as well. :p

Why exactly would they do that when you can just play the original PS1 discs on the PS2?

Go to gamestop, ebgames, gametrader type places and dig thru the used games. You can probably find a copy for $10 or less

w t f. youve just lost all credibility in the rpg department my friend.

yes 80 is too much for a mediocre game, 80 is too much for a great game, 80 is too much for any game.

but ff7 is not a mediocre game. I have played 1,2,3(american),7,8,9,10,11,and now 12. I personally do prefer 2 and 3, but 7 is very high on the list.

finally someone to help express my thoughts, partially, lol

well, I still think FF7 was a really good game, not that appealing to me when it first came out except for the artwork, Squaresoft (at the time) produced, I loved it.

but you are right in my opinion, FF6 is a classic man, nothing outbeats FF6 and Chrono Trigger, man! Secret of Evermore was awesome.. I wish there were more main characters, though.

hey dude, tell you friend not to do it. you can find a copy at Gamespot and if you play it on the PS2, the game should actually run waaaay faster. it's the exact same thing as the original, which isn't really a collector's item... is it?

Anyone else like FF8? My sister loved Final Fantasy 7 but I like 8 more, her reasoning was that she like the story and the cartoonish type thing going on I guess...

I think some of the music in FFVIII was far superior to FFVII.
