I'm liking that first link for the price. Someone mentioned the RSX... what about the new Altima ?

rsx is a little pricey. should be able to get a max for near 20K drive out. deep discounts cuz the 2K3s will be all new, and that altimas have essentially the same engine and are slightly larger.

It's not slow..but its not fast either. The car is pretty heavy and front end is really heavy cause of the engine.

Thing is though the Golf is a go fast car (well at least w/ the VR6), not a look-fast car....which is more what he's going for. Still though my next car will be a ~95 VW Golf GTI 🙂.

If you don't already own a home I'd say put most of it as a downpayment on a home and buy a cheap used car.
Otherwise you can afford a bit with 20K
Honda Accord
Nissan Altima
Saturn L300
Toyota Celica or Camry
Ford Mustang
Chevy Camaro

Probably forgot a few but you get the idea...

I agree...they look nice & all...but Mitsubishi's engines leave much to be desired in the reliability department.

I have a feeling he'll end up with a Sentra SE-R (which would be a good pick....spec V is better, though I don't like the interior, but you said you don't like manual anyways).

Looking for speed? Wait for the Neon SRT, it's the fastest thing for under $20k. Want something a little used with some luxury? Take a look at a Maxima, or even an I30t (mmmm)... hmm, can't think of anything else right now (yeah, major brain fart), I'll post back later 🙂
