I don't understand people. They always expect magical results whether it be a month of lifting weights or aerobics. Have. Patience.

Just keep at it man, a month is not enough time to judge how well you put on weight.

Use a protein drink, and keep lifting. Everyone's different, I had a very hard time puttin on pounds when I was younger. it gets easier as you get older...and if you get a good base now for health and nutrition, it will help later on.

There's also different ways to lift weights: Mass, Size and Strength.

Mass = low reps, high weights
Size and Strength = Lighter weights, more reps...and alternating to weeks where you only do negatives.

Go for mass now, next month do size and strength. you have to keep your muscles guessing, the human body is great at adapting to work loads.

eat more, but dont eat more crap

eat more good things

banana for example....great snacks. ive put on nearly 1 stone since the october 2005. i make sure i get the 5 a day fruit n veg ******, i have at least one big sunday roast a week (ie big meat portion, potatoes, veg, yorkshire puds etc), i eat plenty of fish, i have beef/chicken lasange once/twice a week.

always have a massive bowl of cheerios in the morning, with a banana. have a few pasta dishes as well. just eat fairly healthly, and eat plenty, and combine this with regular work out. im a swimmer so i spend plenty of time in the pool and in the gym and need to eat lots becuase my body burns stuff up really fast

ive gone from 6ft 2in and 10/10.5 stone (140/147lbs) to 6ft 3in and 11.5 stone. (161lbs)

and its all muscle

oh and i dont take any supplements, and i dont really do any kind of weight lifting....90% of my gym work is core stability and lifting my own weight.

swiss balls, and medicine balls, and also those power bags (5-20kg bags of sand you put over your shoulders to make lunges etc harder)

Can't gain muscle if you dont have the fat to build it with.

that's not true at all...you don't turn fat into muscle, and muscle doesnt turn into fat. your metabolism changes when you get older making it harder to retain muscle and easier to gain fat.

your eating habits have to change when this happens...and it gets drastic around the age 30.
