Black cars tend to become amorphous. A Black Corvette loses the good lines and looks completely different from a Silver one for example.

I think Black looks good on a luxury sedan and that's about it. Otherwise, if you want a blob of light sucking darkness on the road, OK.

I say pick a color that suits you. Goes with what you like to wear or your eye color, hair color etc. Or your favorite color.

I would never buy a pink car for example. Most people wouldn't.

I would also never buy a blue, orange, peach, dark grey, sickly grey, puke-colored car either. One of my favorite colors is on the Buick Enclave:

I love outdoorsy white ones. Especially the white version of the Wrangler.

Well, he told me he can do a deep / high gloss black (many coats of clear and lots of sanding)...I have pretty much decided on that with pearl. I'm not sure what color pearl though...red or blue? (deep maroon or midnight blue in sun?)..hmm.

That's going to look wicked. Now you need some clean machined finish wheels to go with it :)

those wheels weight what..15 pounds for the 17 inchers? sweet.

I don't know exactly, but yeah they're pretty light. I'm guessing I will go with 17x7.5 or 17x8 up front and 17x9 or 17x9.5 rear. I'd like to get them this year and complete the look of the car, but I've spent a ridiculous amount of money this year so I don't see it happening.

Damn, old thread.

Anyway, might as well update it. Wheels are Mille Miglia MII, 17x7/17x8.

That green looks really great. Is there a colour code that I can refer to?

Looks like British Racing Green to me.

Paint Colour Manufacturer Code & Code No.

L01 British Racing Green PJ 6170Y2790 ICI P030 2854

There are two other greens that Lotus used on the Elise but I think this one is British Racing Green.

This is L22 Bitter Green PJ 6170X2097 ICI P030 9501
