Leave that out or you'll get laughed out of court.

And leave out
which I donated a lovely $167.00 to your town?s economy already to free my car from what I believe was an illegal seizure as it occurred after the tickets stated no stopping time.

You want the judge to LIKE you.

PLEASE tell me you're not that stupid...

I think the licence plates would be enough to identify the vehicle, regardless of its truck-like appearance. You can't ask someone to know the classification as Truck, SUV and so on for every car that drives on the roads.

aparently a misclassification can get you out of a ticket in NYC, so I added it in. was reading some other forums on the issue.

"The Angles" my ass, I've never been in a more disgusting place in my life, and I've crapped in rest stop toilets...the people are rude, the streets smell of piss, and fat guys can't seem to keep a shirt on for the life of them.

how can I beat this fvcked up parking ticket. I rather not pay the LA cops or dump more money into the Schwaranagger economy if I can help it, I rather donate the money to a local school in my state or some shiznit.

here is what I have written to the "Parking Violations Bureau" but before you read it, let it be known, LA can kiss my white hairy ass because even my unwiped cheeks are cleaner then that cespool of unevolved primortial ooze you call a city!

To Whom It May Concern:

RE: Citation 956567802

I am requesting an administrative review of Citation 956567802 on the following grounds:

1) Unclear/illegible Signage
2) Time of citation
3) Out of state bias
4) Wrong Vehical Type

1) the signage on the 3400 block of Figueroa St S. is faded, damaged, out of drivers line of sight, and signs directing attention to Tow away zone signs are damaged and illegible.

2) The time of the citation is 6:01pm according to the comment section of the citation I will have to ?translate? as the abbreviations are unclear. NPV (No Parking Violation), S/P Stopped OR parked, T/A Tow Away, N/S No stopping? Between 4PM-6PM the citation was issued at 06:01pm 1 minute after the stated violation times. The car was also towed after that time which I donated a lovely $167.00 to your town?s economy already to free my car from what I believe was an illegal seizure as it occurred after the tickets stated no stopping time.

3) I believe my car was targeted because of it?s out of state plates, there were other vehicles around with no special markings or permits other then CA plates that were permitted to remain on the 3400 block of Figueroa un-towed and un ticketed while mine was singled out.

4) Vehicle type listed is TRK or Truck, Vehicle is SUV and not classified as a truck either by registration or insurance.

the only thing that _might_ hold up is the signage. however, you sound like you are sol. be more careful about where you park, and i recommend against insulting a city for a parking ticket you sound like you deserve.

the parking ticket isn't the half of my gripe with LA, I just like to condense threads when aplicable. I can live with a Ticket, I can live with getting towed. there are far greater problems with LA then I care to delve in to detail about here. but yes, the city is a sh!thole.

I DID give you meaningful and helpful advice, as helpful as anyone else in this thread. If you don't believe me, send your letter and find out. The only shot at beating the ticket you have is if they buy your first argument (bad signs) or they don't want to deal with you.

You really need to grow up.

If the signage says no parking 4-6 and the ticket is labelled at 6:01, then technically that should get you out right there. Just tell them he must have come by literally seconds after you parked it there because you made sure it was 6:00 before you parked. Cop put the time on there showing that it was after the illegal parking time so what's the problem?

And then when the cop explains that he had been there for 10 minutes ticketing other cars and just hadn't gotten to narzy's car until 6:01, narzy gets in big trouble for lying to the judge.

narzy, since you obviously didn't realize it, that's what I was getting at before. The cop may not have written the ticket until 6:01, but he saw your car parked there at 6:00. If you try to argue that it wasn't parked there at 6:00, the judge will know you're lying and you'll have no chance of getting out of the ticket. Not to mention you'll look even more inconsistent when you argue that you didn't know you weren't allowed to park there between 4:00 and 6:00, but you didn't park there during those times anyway. That's like saying you didn't murder someone, but if you DID you were insane at the time.

No techinally he shouldn't. It doesn't matter what time the ticket is written. What matters is the time of the violation.

So are you saying he should lie?

that is EXACTLY what I was thinking while reading through this thread. Narzy sounds like he's a rebel senior in highschool.

Narzy, my course for action would be to keep them busy with paperwork until they dismiss it.

That is the bottom line for any kind of ticket...speeding, parking, etc.

Don't listen to the people here. Even if the argument is bull, still submit it. And don't be above bending the truth a little to make your arguments sound better.

That is how I've beaten my tickets by mail. Think about it; would the state rather pay a traffic pig to go on patrol and write a dozen more tickets, or spend their time writing up a affidavit for the judge overseeing my case? A dozen tickets vs 1 ticket...

Yah, thats it don't be above lying. :disgust:

And don't be above the penalties for perjury when you submit knowingly false documents to the city. Not saying you will lie but I'd love to see you get nailed for it if you tried it.

w00t I beat it, I took your advice, knocked out #3 and #4, prettied it up (kissed their ass.) and got a phone call today telling me the ticket has been voided and that I will recive a letter in the mail soon acknowlaging it. if you want a copy of the letter I used, send me a PM. the reason given was that the signs were in an un-readable condition.

I probably won't get reimbersed for the taxi, and I've always learned to quit while I'm ahead, but I will mention it when / if he calls back.

I didn't see the thread until just now...
That's generally sufficient to get out of a ticket. We used to have a bad stop-sign... very old, very worn at the end of my block. I rarely stopped for it (a stop sign was pretty unnecessary there; a yield would have been more appropriate, but they rarely use those in the city.)
Friend (policeman) said "one of these days, someone's going to see you going through that stop sign and give you a ticket." Me: "what stop sign? I never noticed a stop sign, as defined by the DOT. There's certainly nothing reflective at that corner that can be seen at night by my headlights. Him: "good point."
Weeks later, I noticed quite a few stop signs in that condition were replaced with decent looking ones. (and honestly, unless you were really looking for it, you would NOT see it at night. )
