That was retarded on so many levels. Let me list them:
1. Los Angeles is Spanish for the angels, not the angles. Angles = geometry and/or white people. Angels = up in heaven and whatnot.
2. Out of state bias will not fly.
3. WTF cares if your car is a truck or an SUV? Are you saying it wasn't your vehicle? If not, it doesn't matter.
4. If the ticket was written at 6:01, it's pretty likely that your car was parked there at 6:00. Are you saying your car was not there at 6:00, but in fact you parked it there at 6:01 while the traffic cop was apparantly already there, and he immediately gave you a ticket while you walked away? Didn't think so. It doesn't matter if he wrote the ticket one minute late if your car was parked where it wasn't supposed to be when it wasn't suppoosed to be there. If it DID matter, he would have written 6:00 on the ticket instead of 6:01.
5. You're going to have to provide pictures of the signage if you want the judge to listen to your only possibly valid argument.
That said, if you honestly weren't aware that you weren't allowed to park there, good luck beating the ticket.

could have parked at 5:58 and my clock was wrong, could have parked at 6...the ticketing officers watch / clock could have been off, its not retarted to not want to pay a stupid ass ticket.

And they're not "retarted" to let you off of a ticket for a situation where you can't clear beyond any doubt that you didn't commit the offense.
The thing about traffic and parking violations is that you are guilty until you can prove yourself innocent. When I say prove, I mean, find undisputable evidence that you were not in the wrong in this situation.
You aren't going to get that without pictures of the signs. Additionally, if it's that much of a problem that it caused you to get a citation, you should call city services and file a complaint that the signs are illegible. If it's serious enough for them to let you out of a ticket, it's serious enough for you to make a complaint about it. Show them you aren't just being a crybaby because you got owned.

I think the licence plates would be enough to identify the vehicle, regardless of its truck-like appearance. You can't ask someone to know the classification as Truck, SUV and so on for every car that drives on the roads.
