130PM - Lunch at college. Normally balanced between carbs/protein/fat +fruits and a cup of juice.

430PM - Small cup of water or milk tea and some biscuits.

8PM - Dinner. This is normally lighter than Lunch.

Before Bed - A cup of milk.

wow, i prob eat more in one meal than you eat in a day... which is why i'm 210lbs and your 107. and all that just means one thing: crt1530's response was spot on - eat more!

Start by recording what you eat on fitday.com (or similar website) so you know what your calorie intake is. Use the same site to calculate how many calories you burn per day. Now augment your diet with enough food so you're eating a good bit more than you burn - if you burn 2000 calories a day, eat 2800-3000. Here are some ideas for tweaks to your diet:

Normally I have a lightish breakfast @ 630AM. A cup of milk + tea + 1 small toasted bread with cheese and (very) occasionally poached egg. A slice of bread is not a breakfast. Instead, have a protein shake and a bowl of cereal or oatmeal with milk and fruit

11AM - A full cup of milk (Should I add anything here) Add in some fruit, nuts, string cheese and other healthy snacks that have protein and some calories

130PM - Lunch at college. Normally balanced between carbs/protein/fat +fruits and a cup of juice.

430PM - Small cup of water or milk tea and some biscuits. Again, add in some healthy snacks here, like fruit, veggies, nuts, peanut butter & jelly sandwich, etc

8PM - Dinner. This is normally lighter than Lunch.Make it at least as much food, if not more than lunch

Before Bed - A cup of milk.Change this to a protein shake with milk.

Make the changes gradually so you don't gorge yourself immediately. For example, initially just add a protein shake in the morning. Once you can handle that, add one at night. This will add some much needed protein and calories to your diet at two critical times - before and after sleep, during which you eat nothing for 8 hours. Then add some more food to your snack times (11am, 4:30pm). After a few weeks, start eating a real breakfast. And so on.

Another significant improvement would be to add strength training into your lifestyle. If you have two hours, that's MORE than enough time to hit the gym and do something like Rippetoe starting strength, Stronglifts 5x5, Crossfit, Bill Star 5x5, etc. Focus on compound movements (squat, bench, deadlift, etc) with heavy weight and low reps. If you're for some reason adamant about not leaving the house, invest in a few workout items - a pull-up bar, a bench, and some dumbbells - and do the same workouts. Not only will strength training accelerate the rate at which you gain wait, it's also essential to ensure the weight you add to your frame is mostly muscle and not fat.

I'm gonna keep it real simple for you!

Drink a gallon of whole milk every day, and just eat what you normally would.

agreed. maybe cereal or oatmeal.

instead of having milk have some yoghurt. Protein sources besides meat are dairy, nuts, and soy.

Although I can understand the satire against many dining places, this probably shouldn't be here since it's not constructive at all.

Not to be a dick, but having a sticky doesn't make you a mod (unless you're like the old school AT mods that we didn't know about). This forum is here to be informative, but is it *really* that big of a deal if someone cracks a joke?

That's what OT is for. A joke can be contributed if it has some sort of information tied to the rest of the post, but posting just to neff is really not what the H&F forums are about. Obviously, I'm not a mod. I'm extremely active here though and just trying to help keep the tone of it courteous and informative, not nefferific. Like I said, that's what OT is for.

Keep in mind that the OP is from Pakistan where the dining customs and the availability of some foods and supplements might not be the same as it is here in the States and Europe.

That's not entirely true. We get everything you would get in the US and more for a LOT cheaper. Obviously imports from the US and European brands are expensive but 99% of everything is made here. Diary products; fruits; wheat - we are amongst the top quality producers. Foods maybe different but the ingredients are generally the same. ;) For eg; bread. We get normal white bread and with that chapatis made with flour. Dishes are generally more spicy. And generally we eat more break and rice and less meat and chicken. However at school we usually have western dishes for lunch.

Dining customs? Very different but that does not mean we eat more or less.

I didn't mean to imply that you didn't have access to plenty of food:laugh:

As you said your diets is made up more of vegetables and grain than meat and poultry and I bet getting Whey Protein Powder isn't easy or cheap probably because it isn't in big demand there.

Yeah, sure, how about I neff in the Highly Technical forum? Or the Computer Help forum? That's a load of crap. Stay in OT if you wanna act like you're witty. It's that simple.

What's simple is that you have zero authority here so you don't tell others what they can or cannot post. if you see something that you believe is a violation of the rules you contact a Moderator and let us handle it. If you have a problem with that then you can PM DerekWilson and complain to him about it.

I thought it was funny, and it's actually true which says a lot considering some of the posts in this forum. Sounds like someone needs to lighten up.

I think this is a great idea also, one that the OP should definitely look into.

Don't worry about it. Being really thin is cool, not something to be worried about, much less ashamed. I had a girlfriend who was fixated on really thin guys. Just go with it and believe me, you'll find women who dig you just the way you are.

If you want to build up your legs, do some exercises that focus on them. Running fast, games like basketball and tennis will build your leg strength, and they are a whole lot of fun, too. If you actually drink 3 glasses of milk a day, I doubt that doctor was right when he said you were calcium deficient. Have you had a blood test? That should show your blood calcium level.

You can improve your posture, but realize that it's a process, something that takes a while, probably a long time. Do exercises that tighten up and tone the muscles that will pull you into the posture you want. Also, focus on standing and walking with your preferred posture, and eventually your posture will improve. That's the kind of thing you do your whole life.

Being as thin as the OP is definitely *not* cool, it's unhealthy. A 5'3 girl should weigh more than 107 pounds to be healthy. Also, your exercise advice is not particularly conducive to putting on significant weight. Lifting heavy weights using basic compound movements + eating a ton is what the OP needs to do if he wants to get bigger without getting fatter.

Running fast doesn't increase leg strength per se. It increases it to a point, then increases lactic acid resistance, oxygen delivery, etc - things that benefit endurance. Lifting weights will actually build leg strength and will have a strong anabolic hormone response, which will press the OP's body toward gaining weight.

Also, Calcium wouldn't effect your posture, I can nearly assure you, OP. It is often times weakness of the muscles involved in the lumbar arch. I have a small problem like that that my physical therapist pointed out to me. Hyperextensions and deadlifts will help with that along with conscious correction and recalibration of your posture throughout the day when you remember.

It caught me off guard as well. I had reserved my sarcasm meter for OT and couldn't tell if Muse's comments warranted it or not, haha.
