We're selling my wife's 2000 Elantra, and my wife really doesn't want to part with the car (we're moving to Japan so we have no choice). It's been a great little car, with a good amount of acceleration for a 4 cylinder, and good quality inside. The only downside to it is the amount of cabin noise at higher speeds, but it's not intolerable (and consistent with other cars at its price, from what I've heard). We've had one maintenance issue -- a transmission gasket started leaking fluid. That's it so far.
It's also held its value fairly well -- Blue Book for it is $9,000 while we bought it for $13,000 even (tax, tag, and title included). That's not too shabby for 18+ months of ownership and 24,000 miles.
