Please help. I'm quite embarraseded to admit that I broke one of the socket heatsink tabs off on a brand new CUSL2-C motherboard that I was installing. The most frustrating thing about it was that I was trying to install a RETAIL BOXED P3/1Gz using the supplied heatsink and fan. Unfortunately, it seemed like the clip was a tad too short, because when closed, it snapped the smaller tab right off on one side. I'm very lucky that my chip didn't get crushed.
I know that most of you would have simply chunked the heatsink that was supplied, but it looked pretty decent to me, so I decided to use it. Besides, I don't overclock.
My question: Is there a heatsink out there that doesn't depend on the small tabs right down the center of the socket? If I can find one that latches on to the slightly larger tabs, I'd be able to use the mobo. In the meantime, I've already bought another, but it sure would be nice.
Thanks for any info.
