get earplugs

seriously, babies will cry themselves out eventually and get over it

to a certain extent he is right. The problem with babies is when you get them into a habit (sleeping a certain way, singing at certain times, rocking them at certain times) they then start to expect it. It's no different than anything else... you hand a kid an iPad all the time and they always expect one.

Both mine had acid re-flux and this sounds very similar to them. There are two things you need to do:

1) Talk to your doctor to see if this is the case and get her re-flux medicine as patarus suggested (some symptoms are: lots of groaning, lot of spit-up, crying when laying flat & eating more than they need to because it temporarily soothes the pain).
2) Try to have her sleep inclined because the acid is going up her throat. If she is inclined it should be less of a problem. See if she will fall asleep in her car seat without a problem. If so, get her something like this https://www.toysrus.com/product?productId=133066926.

Go to the doctor because if it is re-flux there can be some dangerous side effects if not treated.

Also THIS.

Ours stopped breathing and nearly died if we didn't have an oxygen machine and mom knew proper CPR. It can block their airway if it occurs at the wrong time (sleep, in our case) and they can die in their sleep. Mom is already in crazy mode so to help relieve stress we constantly have ours on a monitoring device that will alarm if her heart rate or oxygen goes below a certain level.

Acid reflux is what I meant. Haven't been getting much sleep lately.

Yeah acid reflux is my bet.

Both of my kids were colicy. Sucks ass.... teething, gas, acid reflux, them being afraid and training you to hold them....

Once they get to be about 10months old, a lot of these issues should go away. I just went through this all, and my son is now 1 year old.... still wakes up once a night... 🙁

babby velcro!

These things never seem to come with proper service manuals. Is there a diagnostic port somewhere you can plug a laptop into? It sounds like the built in accelerometer may be out of calibration. Shaking it may possibly recalibrate it.

I think we broke her 🙁

She requires constant rocking in a vertical position. The minute I lay her flat or even propped up head on a pillow, the wailing starts. Teething? Infection? Broken babby? Not sure how much longer we can keep this up, require sleep to be functioning parental units.

Could be Silent Reflux. Same idea as acid reflux, but without the gurgling noise...they sleep vertically on you just fine, but put 'em down and they flip out. Mine had it for like 2 years. I was such a zombie that I hardly have any memories of that time...I see pictures from time to time & often (literally) don't remember them at all. Parenting FTW.

We ended up making a pillow fort on our bed & another one on the recliner in the living room. That way you can recline a bit, the baby can sleep vertically-ish, and you're both protected from rolling over or falling off. It's an awful way to sleep, but it's better than nothing!

One modern item you may want to try is a Mamaroo. It's a diagonal auto-rocker that has mimic features built-in...it can simulate a car ride or a mother's hip movements or a swing or whatever. They run a couple hundred bucks, but they do have good reviews:

Patience is the onlyu thing i can suggest, let it ride, as mentioned babies generally cry themselves to sleep.
Unless they are at the age of 2.. some one attention before bed, so perhaps a bed time story.

dear god. All i see is a busted actuator and then you have ceiling waffle babby instead of vertical babby.

That thing is fucking awesome, but please don't buy one new. There are tons of used ones on Craigslist and eBay.
