<raised eyebrow> Actually, I'm female and I just built my third computer. 'Course, the gender-neutral nick ensures that I don't get all that "omigod, a girl built a computer!" attention...

That in itself is their distinguishing characteristic. How dull. Besides, why advertise my gender? It's not like I'm here looking for a boyfriend...

Someone's got their head on right.
We live in a classist, racist and sexist society. A complacent one at that.

People are actually reccomending DELLS!!!

You wouldn't recommend a dell if it was a man asking. "They have support incase it breaks down." nice nice
So women are too stupid to fix the damned computer?

Welcome to AT

should be plenty of good advice here on the forums

Dell is good choice for computer system and warrantty purposes. If you are good on working on computers yourself then by all means build one. I myself when i first started didnt understand what anyone was talking about as far as computers. Now i build my own computers for myself and a few friends

hugs to you

Looks like it, doesn't it? j/k
Anyhow, for an OEM I never recommend Dell because they can't really be upgraded. Micron is a great tier 1 oem, though I really prefer the tier 3s.

Having graduated from a tech school, it is just a little off the norm for women to be going the technical route. (2 women in a class of several hundred). That was in the 80's and that trend might of changed, but I personally don't feel women should be discriminated against simply because not as many choose the technical fields.

So you neanderthal thinking men, get your knuckles off the floor and wipe the drool from your jowls so that when a woman posts you can read her post for the information contained and not be just sniffing around for your pheromone high.

With that said, can I ask a question for you users of 3D programs. What about Quadro cards makes them better for rendering 3D objects. Special instruction sets in their bios's for rendering from the program? Like dedicated ray tracing or some special shader or something along that line. I would think that the power of the 3D engines that drive gaming could be utilized for the exact same purposes.

Actually, I suggested the ATi Fire GL (or the inferior Quadro DCC), but that's out of her price range. However, there is a way to turn a GF3 into a Quadro DCC, but unfortunately I do not remember the link to that guide. If anyone else does, please post it.

Women are discriminated in a lot of places, so are men, so is everyone.
My question is why don't women go into the technical fields?
Why do 80% of all women think that their ass is too big? (I heard this survey result yesturday, for real)

I think that females are taught growing up that girls aren't interested in that stuff, it's a cultural thing. I know some girls that are tech savvy and they are just as good as any guy, not only that, but they like it as much as any other guy and are genuinely as interested. I know way too many girls on the other hand that insist on using their "I'm a helpless female" charm to get their way, which is so damned pitiful. So much is wasted.

We don't have to think to survive.

This is so obvious that it is pitiful, it is not the first time either.

Don't get me started on a rant. Humans are by far the most idiotic creatures on this planet. We may not look silly like the platypus or say slime mold, but we have done more in our short time as "Masters of the Universe" to harm the earth and each other that I am sure if earth could vote which is the dumbest animal on earth it would be HUMAN.

We can do wonderous things with technology, but still have to prove how very mean and low we are on a daily basis. Where did love for your own race go? (I assume we all know that its the human race and not the American race or Arab race or Chinese race, etc.) Let alone the appreciation of the world and its many splendors. Are we like the rats in the cage experiment? Put X number of rats in X size cage and they get along just fine, but add one more and they all start fighting to the death, which is very unlike their natural in-balance tendencies. Are we truly Koyaaniskatsi (hopi indian word meaning life out of control - crazy)?

That is so truly said, and that is the nature of the problem. Failure to recognize mortality and that power is only truly self serving so it can never be used to benefit the herd. Who would rather be happy and content all the days of your life or would you rather be rich and get what pleasure you can from things? We are truly a lost and fairly hopeless cause because if we are honest it the last thing we truly look for when the first is so easy to attain.

And I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the LG Flatron 915FT, as it has a shadow mask and has excellent image quality (and a flat face).

Samsung OWNZ LG

The corporation of my choice is better than the corp that you prefer, therefore I am a better and wiser human being. Suck it.
