Just pretend for a minute that everything you say isn't law for one second and look at things in another light.

what other light? the one where you don't believe him? that's fine, i never said you had to believe him, i'm not even addressing that issue in my posts here... but a person's honesty gets challenged and they get defensive, what did you expect? that's reality for ya.

(edit: notice to those who PM the mods everytime I post, this is not trolling, this is called a defiant opinion)

okay...

Congrats on finding the reply button, however one should have something worthwhile to contribute before pressing it. You are getting defensive for no reason. This is not life or death, there is no reason to get angry.

Dude, you have NOTHING to contribute in this thread, yet your a$$ seems to be finding the reply button all the time! This might not be a matter of life or death to you, but then the world does not revolve around you.

If you want to contribute to the fund, you are welcome. Otherwise, there are 20,000 other threads in AT to waste your time.

At any rate, you posted a thread like this in a public internet forum and you're getting pissed off because people are skeptical? Let's not let human emotion poison reality.

the reality is that a.) he wasn't the original poster, and b.) if someone or someone's friend's honesty gets questioned by people who haven't bothered to examine all the facts, that person gets defensive. the reality is that humans exhibit human emotion.

really people, if you don't want to donate, that's great, but there's no need to crap in this thread.

Hey my friend just lost his job gopunk, I can't really prove any of it but can you send money to my paypal account so I can help him out?

oh wait.

Just pretend for a minute that everything you say isn't law for one second and look at things in another light.

Do us all a favor and take your own advice from your sig! Stop posting!

Sorry that this is all I have to contribute to this thread. I really hope that things start going better for funboy6942!

Oh, and I think what you guys are doing is great and a really sweet gesture. We are lucky to have such kind people here on AT. That goes for everyone who has donated as well.

whats with you stupid retards trying to use the "there are other people in the same situation" argument? does that prevent you from helping ONE of those people? if noone used that argument and helped where they could, then we wouldn't HAVE those millions of people in poverty. you have the chance to make something of yourself, to prove that you have a heart. and you throw it away, and you spit and piss on Jason's needs. he needs to raise his children, you worthless excuses for humans.

this is not a charity box, no. but this is a genuine human in need, and he honestly just tries to go about his own business without telling his sob story to everyone, and we inquire, and because AT is a community, some of us bond together to help, while some losers sit there and whine and moan about nothing at all, with their heads up their asses.

I don't have a paypal acct., nor a credit card, etc
One of you fundraiser people, give me yours or Jason's address so I can mail some cash your way (preferably jason's, so it goes straight to his hands)

Why is everything in his FS/FT thread basically free?

I would be more than happy to throw him a few extra bucs for the hardware..

This is my understanding of it... this changed once he knew there were donations coming his way, and he feels this is his way of giving back immediately. Yes an interesting concept to be sure. :Q

You know, some people will be skeptical no matter what -some would even call them MANY other names!!

If you had bothered to READ the threads you would have seen that this is not some newbie that just started begging for money. Jason has been on the board a long time. HE DID NOT POST ASKING FOR MONEY!!! Instead, he just posted a For Sale thread and when people asked why he was practically giving away his stuff, he told people his story.

A lot of people jumped in to help him out of the goodness of their hearts. Diana, Dave & Me, volunteered to start the fund raiser since we are closer and deliver him goods rather than just money. For those 'skeptical' of you, you have never been in a situation where you have to choose between eating for a day and putting diapers on your kids. This is the WORST situation a parent can be in and if you have never been there you can NEVER imagine how bad it feels. Many people have been unemployed for while (incl. myself) and some have hit rock-bottom. It is a fact of life that eventually we are all dealt a curve ball.

I sincerely hope for all you 'skeptical' ones, that you never see such a curve ball or have to deal with such a situation.

Look at the photos of his kids and tell me that you'll sleep fine tonight knowing that they might get to bed with no dinner. We have all indications and we are making sure this is no scam, or maybe you think that we are all into this scam to get your $10?

If you want to help, everybody is most welcome. If money is tight, a bump will be always appreciated. If you are one of the skeptical ones, get lost of this thread, your input/opinion is not welcome or appreciated. Go crap on some other meaningless thread.

Well, an attitude like that isn't helping your cause much, I will say that.

I feel sorry for the guy, but I have kids of my own to feed and not much money to throw around. Its a shame when things like this happen, but I don't think you have to worry about his kids not being fed. Food stamps and Cash assistance were made for situations like this, and honestly I don't think anyone would look down upon him for using those options as that is what they are there for. I mean, seriously, if he is having problems feeding his children and getting diapers, he needs to shrug off the pride thing and get down to the welfare office and get the help he needs.

My initial reaction upon reading this thread was also "What makes him so different from I, and others, who have little ones with financial difficulty?!?!".

Hell, I grew up seeing more days than I care to see where times really sucked. But my parents didn't have the internet forums to reach people who do care. And if they did, would they have "shared" their story to garner the compassion of others? To feed me and my brother if we had nothing.....maybe. But again, they had no such forum, so hurt, depressed, etc. or not, they found a way.....this just seems like one more way (the net) appropriate for the times. I'm not saying I endorse this type of thing (the girl who begged to have her CC's paid off should rot in hell) but this is different than that.

Why?

The point is, if it were just this guy and his wife I'd most likely say suck it up and get things moving for you again, but there are children involved. Those of you here without children may not understand how painful the fear of your child suffering is/would be.

One thing I am concerned about is this guys condition, will it improve, or will he see this as a reliable form of some income? I read briefly that he is having trouble getting off of Paxil. If he's depressed to the point he can't work, and if his back is truly that bad, can he not recieve some disability help? Hell, I have a small tear in my spinal cord from an auto accident. For a long time I felt sorry for myself and thought someone owed me. Then reality set in and I discovered noone will take care of me, but me. And I took care of business.

As for this guys medication, I assume since he's out of work that he has no Rx benefits, right? If he's paying out of pocket for Paxil that's AT LEAST $100 per month! If that's the case, then get off the medication, or find much cheaper alternatives. Yeah depression sucks, but is exspensive medicine a priority over food and shelter????

Well, this is all my opinion, and you know how that goes..........so if you don't like it, flame on, see how much I care.

That being said, lets help these kids, they're the important ones here, noone else.

Edit. I donate to my neighbors a lot. Where are theirs? Family, friends? Why a message board? Why didn't he file for medical before he got fired? Why is everybody but him accepting paypal donations? All I see is pics of kids, and one person's word to go on about how he lost his job. Where is this guy? I want to speak to the father, not his representative.

And when you smell a scam or raise an eye brow when someone asks for money over the internet, then you should post. I do not consider this "crapping" on the topic. I don't want people carelessly to donate money to a scam . It would not be the first time tried on a message board where people are actually considered "professionals" who soul purpose is to rip people off. How the hell do I even know that the people who all ready donated are in on the scam?

I'm looking out for more than one parties interest. So I can post either way.

Sorry for not jumping in and donating.

I think this is a defining moment for ATOT. seems that most everyone would rather post about their 15yo GF having PMS and complaining about it than helping out someone that really needs it.

I knew you asshats would show your true colors.

nice job
