Help a Fellow ATer who is in Trouble Please

With all the scams going around, I can't help to be some what little suspicious of why someone would choose AToT for a fundraiser.

Sorry -

It's sad when people have to be skeptical when people ask for help. Just take a chance, help out a fellow human.

I'll be donating in October, when I get my next paycheck. I'll also pray that he and his family make it through this rough time with relative ease.

You should ask for moderator permission before making posts like this. It's a forum, not a charity house.

Yea i read the thing and im a little hesitant to but they have to live with it if they ripped me off for 10 bucks under the pretense of help another human. Might not make a difference to them but o well.

I don't mean to sound heartless but what is seperating him from other people who need money? Sure he has a family, kids and bills to pay off... doesn't everyone?

That being said, I'm tight for cash as well:brokenheart:

Sorry to hear about your friend but I can't help as I have also been jobless since April and have 2 kids of my own to feed.

How long is he going to be out of commision? Is the back injury long term? Is this going to be an ongoing fundraiser or just some help to get them by for another month? This is asked in all seriousness.

Will help with what i can, best of luck.

Dropped ya a 10.

Thank you!

To those who are skeptical, please understand that those who are helping are taking this at face value. If you choose not to help that is your choice. For me personally this is a way to help someone who has asked for help. I do not know him, and am going on this souly from a feeling from the heart.

I have to agree whole heartedly with this. I too have been through some rough times just like eveyone else. Everybody has bills to pay, ie. car payments, house payment, utilities, insurance, kids to feed, etc. and the list goes on. Heck, I haven't worked since April 16 because I got hurt also. Personally, I've been following the other thread and feel sorry for the guy, but I'm gonna take care of #1 first. To all that are helping, I wish there were more like you in the world.

Excuse me? Must I pull a link of 100,000 scams that where associated on the internet? Maybe if our "fellow" humans didn't abuse or embezzle so much, I wouldn't be so skeptical. If I where that gullible, I would be the one out on the streets begging for pocket change.

And no, I'm not a person who flips off a bum on the streets who asks for change. I have no problem giving what I can to the needy.

You know, some people will be skeptical no matter what -some would even call them MANY other names!!

If you had bothered to READ the threads you would have seen that this is not some newbie that just started begging for money. Jason has been on the board a long time. HE DID NOT POST ASKING FOR MONEY!!! Instead, he just posted a For Sale thread and when people asked why he was practically giving away his stuff, he told people his story.

A lot of people jumped in to help him out of the goodness of their hearts. Diana, Dave & Me, volunteered to start the fund raiser since we are closer and deliver him goods rather than just money. For those 'skeptical' of you, you have never been in a situation where you have to choose between eating for a day and putting diapers on your kids. This is the WORST situation a parent can be in and if you have never been there you can NEVER imagine how bad it feels. Many people have been unemployed for while (incl. myself) and some have hit rock-bottom. It is a fact of life that eventually we are all dealt a curve ball.

I sincerely hope for all you 'skeptical' ones, that you never see such a curve ball or have to deal with such a situation.

Look at the photos of his kids and tell me that you'll sleep fine tonight knowing that they might get to bed with no dinner. We have all indications and we are making sure this is no scam, or maybe you think that we are all into this scam to get your $10?

If you want to help, everybody is most welcome. If money is tight, a bump will be always appreciated. If you are one of the skeptical ones, get lost of this thread, your input/opinion is not welcome or appreciated. Go crap on some other meaningless thread.

Just curious are (or were you) Deal Huntress or is that someone else?

Would suggest putting that thread in your sig to give it maximum exposure.

You left the bold tag on.

At any rate, you posted a thread like this in a public internet forum and you're getting pissed off because people are skeptical? Let's not let human emotion poison reality.

If it is fake I will beat him up myself since I will be appearing @ his house with Roadraider & Huntress tommorow with food and such.

This amounts to a begging letter, no matter who the money is for or what the circumstances are. While what has happened to him is bad, there are thousands, nay millions of people all over the world who deserve help far more than this. People who's families have died, orphans, war victims etc, not some guy who's hurt his back and lives in a wealthy country. If I was him and I knew you'd posted this and his situation to a group of random people you don't know, begging for money, i'd throttle you. As it is, I think you're a scammer. Pretty convenient the guy doesn't have a bank account, huh?🙁

the reality is that a.) he wasn't the original poster, and b.) if someone or someone's friend's honesty gets questioned by people who haven't bothered to examine all the facts, that person gets defensive. the reality is that humans exhibit human emotion.

really people, if you don't want to donate, that's great, but there's no need to crap in this thread.

Hey my friend just lost his job gopunk, I can't really prove any of it but can you send money to my paypal account so I can help him out?

oh wait.

Just pretend for a minute that everything you say isn't law for one second and look at things in another light.

(edit: notice to those who PM the mods everytime I post, this is not trolling, this is called a defiant opinion)
