Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else find Jean-Philippe amusing? It always seems Ramsay catches him at odd moments to open HK.

Jean Philippe is an amazing baller. He's like the best of both American entrepreneurial talent, and a sick french accent.

It's Belgian I believe and I'm really beginning to wonder just how scripted he is in parts of these episodes. Especially with that gay guy, who seems like he's just trying to act as gay as possible on prime time tv.

Was thinking the same thing. The cake incident looked completely set up.

LA's comment "I'm gay, but that dude is parade gay." cracked me up though.

Not only did the cake thing look fake I am starting to wonder if EVERY time they have a food challenge with 3 do they always have a tie so they can try all 3?

Was a good episode. The only purpose of such a show is to put people under intense pressure. The cake accident may have been fake, who knows. It was still interesting.

I think coi did deserve to be kicked off. She screwed up the most important table of the night. Not only did she forget to even prep her station (I mean, if your the meat station and leave the burgers in the fridge, wtf?) but when she screwed up, she sent them out undercooked. Even though it was kobe, she still needed to cook it how they ordered it. Thats a pet peeve of mine, I don't care how busy it is, don't undercook my food just because your pinched for time.

What the fuck is wrong with Carol? She's really hawt, but what the fuck is wrong with her?

Bleu cheese in a burger? That's like the antithesis of being kosher.

Good point. Don't think I've ever seen a 2 and done. Same sort of thing usually happens when they have fileting or butchering challenges too. It always seems to come down to a tie with one last cut hanging in the balance to decide which teams wins. "And the winning team is..." /cut to commercial.

Manufacturing a small bit of drama is understandable. But forcing it nearly every time starts to become boring and makes you wonder if the entire show is scripted from beginning to end.

If you seriously don't think this show is 90% scripted, you're pretty naive. It's still entertaining no question, but you can simply tell nearly EVERYTHING is scripted/edited to make the "best" TV possible.

Carol is so hawt though, I hope she wins the females section. Gio is a baller though, I'd really like to see him clench it. And I thought I read somewhere JP was French.

*sigh* The way every season of this show gets worse, I don't think I will be around for the next iteration. The heavy scripting/manufacturing of crises and Ramsay's acting like a foul-mouthed, mercurial dumbass have really gotten tiring.

The cake being dropped was the most obviously faked stunt I've seen on television in ages. He didn't even brush up against the guy - he tipped it over on purpose. No repercussions, either.

Ramsay went after Andrea for doing something that he commended another chef for last season - not being able to nominate two of their teammates. And telling Lacey she's "shining"? Raging after Coi for being a couple of minutes behind exactly once? It's so pointless and self-defeating. It's a complete farce, which the show once was not.

I understand about scripting/editing for entertainment purposes. However, it never used to appear to be overly scripted. Now it's becoming too obvious. It's a shame too because the show can still be entertaining without forcing it.

If you have ever seen Boiling Point (and Beyond Boiling Point), that chronicles him as he is going for his 3 Michelin stars (if I recall, it's actually just his quest for his 3rd), you'd see he really does act that way in the kitchen, and he really does treat his line almost exactly the same way as he does in HK. He was regularly sacking chefs and waiters for "minor" offenses.

i love cooking shows but this is dumb. lacy has NO cooking skills at all and the show is only keeping her for comic relief. Ramsey gunned for the chefs who have some skill but leaves the donkeys alone. NONE of them are of the caliber to run a McDonald's and they want to run a 5 star casino restaurant? bwhahahh what a joke.

I agree, this show is turning into a complete joke. Lacey has ZERO chance of being a chef, zip, nada, NONE. How he let her stay just shows me this is beyond fake, not to mention another tie in the food taste challenge. Its fun to watch though, just I am not sure how much longer for me.

my god I love when Ramsey just strait up KICKS people off.

Lacy is only here because Fox loves her drama...she won't win...another thing is, she hasn't been on a decent station, she does some minor garnish/desserts...coasting by.

next episode it looks likes she is FVCKED! she is on the meat station.

My assumption -- hick guys gonna win, or Gio.

lacy needs to be kicked. sad part is everyone knows she is there just for the show. it pisses me off that more skilled people are kicked and she stays.
