Instant rice
Multivitamin

Ramen + Tuna in Oil tastes like tuna noodle casserole.

let's stretch that $ even more:
why ramen? why not thin speghetti for $0.50/lb at walmart. (thin speghetti cooks faster than regular speghetti.)

canned veggies? what else besides green beens?

instead of $6 Rotisserie Chicken, how about mcdonalds double cheeseburger $1

Ramen cooks in 1 minute. I need fast cooking food (3 minutes max) to conserve fuel on my camping stove. I can't afford to boil stuff for 10 minutes straight. Most of the time I just bring water to a boil, turn off the stove, then add the noodles and have them cook from the residual heat.

Canned veggies can include green beans, corn, carrots, potatoes, etc.

$1 cheeseburgers are not healthy.

Well, that night I was in Kelso Depot. Today I'm in Las Vegas. Then onwards to somewhere in Death Valley. Because you know, this is the most comfortable time of year to go die there.

If you head into Death Valley from Vegas, you'll probably pass through Baker. It's an interesting little town. Seems like just gas stations (and The World's Largest Thermometer) but there's actually some houses, a school, and a public pool.

One of the best nights of sleep I ever had was in Baker, on a picnic table. It had been 122 degrees that day and we'd bicycled in from Vegas overnight. Spent the afternoon chilling out at the pool, and set up camp on the ground of the community resource building. Sprinklers went off at like 10pm and soaked our tents through, so we ended up sleeping on the picnic tables under the stars.

I envy your position fbb, and I understand your pains. I've done a lot of travelling solo, since most of my friends aren't into that stuff. Even if you're a very introspective person, those kind of trips are always better with someone special.

It's great to read about your stories. I used to go everywhere with my dog. Now he is almost 15, and too old to go, and I won't leave him alone. One day though I will get back out there.

Oh no you dihnt!

$6 rotisserie chicken > 6 $1 cheeseburgers

esplain

Solid meat is simply better than offal in every way. It is more nutritious, tastier, and as said more healthy (besides the nutrition, it has less bad stuff too).

Whole wheat spaghettini takes 4 minutes. Presumably, the refined variety would take less, perhaps even half as long el dente. There is also angel hair pasta and for that matter vermicelli (rice) which is very quick to cook.
