I'm trying to hold off buying it until I have a graphics card in my computer (well, a card made this decade...). I'm really trying to just hold off until the next gen pops in 3-5 months...You guys gotta stop giving it so much praise. I'm trying to hold off buying this until at least the fall sales, especially since I'm still playing other games.
I was honestly hoping for it to be pretty lackluster, but everything I've read about it across the internet has been stellar praise.
I would venture a guess that as they spawn the rocket into the game engine, it's hit detection collides with the moving mech as the rocket's initial position, speed/movement vector, and inertial momentum did not get properly updated from the mech that fired...Also there is the known issue where the mech will sometimes randomly blow up when firing a rocket while moving.
I'm running on an RX 6600 8GB in an egpu enclosure with thunderbolt. And my 8th gen Intel 18W laptop only exposes 2 pcie 3.0 lanes to the thunderbolt connection... and I run fine in HD II at 1080p rez with the settings all the way down.I'm trying to hold off buying it until I have a graphics card in my computer (well, a card made this decade...). That said, I just checked and I do pass the minimum with my 1060 6gb, and my Ryzen 7950X CPU is overkill (yeah, the GPU is simply a hold-over, really, a swap over from upgrading my HTPC to a 3060 Ti).
Yeah, so, this then happened (call me Space Cadet)... and I got no sleep last night, playing till 6am when I noticed some light just starting through the window.I'm running on an RX 6600 8GB in an egpu enclosure with thunderbolt. Not exactly #pcmasterrace stuff, but I get to experience many cups of Liber-tea and the excitement of friendly fire with my friends 😀
Default for Fortnite as well.Well, I was holding off buying it but a buddy bought it for me since he wanted us to switch from Tarkov to Helldivers 2. It is a lot of fun, but has some jank to the controls that I'm still getting used to. Also, whoever thought it would be a good idea to have Sprint be defaulted to a Long Press keybind should never be allowed to touch a computer again. I thought I was losing my mind as my character wouldn't sprint consistently.
Why do you need to max out the medals before the drop (or do you mean, having them already saved up for the new drop so you can just unlock everything useful)? As of now trying to max out medals before the 11th for the new warbond drop, have unlocked the last pages on the previous but haven't purchased all the fluff stuff yet.
Yes so I can play with new toys immediately. I love to fiddle with different combos of primary, support to see how they deal with stuff. The range nerf in practice isn’t that huge because before a grain of sand would randomly prevent your gun from shooting, the stagger is very, very welcomed. Why do you need to max out the medals before the drop (or do you mean, having them already saved up for the new drop so you can just unlock everything useful)?
I'm just wondering as I have only had the game for less than a week. Luckily I watched the various reviews and weapon recommendations and I basically went straight down the Steeled Veterans track (with just a little a couple pages of the original unlocked and the first page of the Cutting Edge). As such, I have been able to be fairly effective since I have most of the "meta" loadouts available to me (unlocked the breaker in the original tree then worked on getting the jar from steeled vets... and use the incendiary shotgun from the first page of the steeled vets against the bugs in the last couple days since they patched fire damage).
I'm still mixed on the nerf to the arc thrower. I really liked it pre-nerf since I learned how to properly fast fire, but the stagger it does now still seems good, unfortunately it doesn't fit my play style anymore as with random other team members, they will many times pull too many enemies at once and its new 1 second fire rate is too slow in those conditions.
I'm hoping they will give another viable secondary weapon. I think just about everyone uses the same one....Yes so I can play with new toys immediately. I still go with the SMG. A friend likes the senator revolver.I'm hoping they will give another viable secondary weapon. I think just about everyone uses the same one....
Been having very few issues under Windows10 (I think I have only crashed 1 time all last week).Had a lot of trouble joining randoms today. 2/5 matches worked without crashing or disconnecting.
I also experienced a weird issue where the game would minimize itself but nothing else would show up on my desktop. I wonder if it is a windows 11 problem.
I was doing some reading on the Helldivers subreddit during the weekend and I recall reading something about cross-play games being buggy, specifically players would get kicked out of the host's game, which sounds like what you're describing here. Bummer too, because my brother plays on PC and I'm on PS5 and we've yet to play together since I convinced him to buy the game 🙁I don't know if its more a cross play issue, but this weekend I didn't have any of the crashing issues I had past week; but the issue was when playing with my sons (I'm on PS5, they are on laptops) they would randomly get disconnected and have to rejoin, but seemed to happen less the longer we played until it really didn't. What was really odd some instances they could continue playing in their own game like the server made us each in our own map solo.
Otherwise made a ton of progress on medals, still have fluff stuff to get but got all the emotes, just a like an armor, a few helms, one of the boosters and some cards left. All ship modules unlocked as well, if you haven't yet the hellpod steering upgrade is VERY noticeable.
This is my take, but the weapons you unlock from the war bonds other than a few exceptions aren't a direct upgrade, you just get to do different things better. Same goes for unlocking stratagems. You can specialize in what you want to do/accomplish in a drop. You'll easily unlock all the stratagems quickly-ish so no huge choices on what to get when. But the starting machine is good because it punches through medium armor, which a lot of non-trash (very very base bots, and the scavengers, hunters, stalkers have light armor) has. Most primaries only punch through light armor unless they state medium armor piercing. So you'll find yourself spending a lot of bullets doing little to no damage on these guys (you'll see the shield icon with a deflecting bullet on it while hitting such targets). Examples are hive guards, brood lords/commanders, most other bots other than the little guys. That reminds me, I do have cross play enabled on PC. I am actively trying to get two friends of mine to buy the game on PS5.
These guys normally don't play games as much other than single player titles, but they randomly started playing fortnight. They tried to get me on it but there's no way I'm playing that.
I suppose the barrier to entry here would be the cost. Last night I had a decent set of matches without any issues for once.
I'm really hoping for a better primary weapon. I've been using the machine gun you get from the beginning because I didn't like anything else.
