500kg is pretty bad, I'll take the orbital precision strike over it all day (obviously not when scatter is present). I prefer the napalm strike on breaches vs. gas, but you can always dump both on one.

Tesla Towers and Orbital Gas Strikes have been my go-to for clearing out the chaff from a bug breech. Chargers and titans will wreck the tower and walk straight through the gas, but everything else will get obliterated. Maybe I had some good luck with the gas strikes on my runs because the smaller bugs can't make it out of the gas before they drop dead, but then again, I usually use those as deterrents to keep them busy while I go somewhere else. Tesla is also great on the new defense missions if you can keep the bigger bugs away from them. My buddy and I held off all the bugs at the first two gates by ourselves with just Tesla Towers, EATs (for the bigger bugs), and autocannons. The vast majority of the time, we were calling down additional towers before the first ones even ran out.

Yea tesla towers and EMS grenade launchers on defense missions are S tier to bring bugs or bots.

It's useful for taking out bug holes, and even Bile Titans although with Bile it's mostly a miss. I almost always carry it in with me in level 7 + difficulty

I think i am done with this game.
The last 2 warbonds did it for me, along with the constant nerf's.

The last warbond, you really thought they couldn't do worse, and they drop this Rambo one with utter garbage gear, just wrapped in camo, because they think people Role Play.

Welp, time to find a new game.

This patch fixes a lot of stuff, but my problem is I burned through all the content way too fast, there is very little incentive for me to play. I'll probably be done after I finish out this warbond that just dropped. I may still get the itch for some fun, but it's greatly more rewarding when playing with people you know.

I had pretty much stopped playing from the Sony PSN link debacle.... But it looks like they have cleaned that up for now (until the next time Sony decides to attempt it). But this patch seems to be a very good thing from everything I have read so far. I think they are realizing that the NERF bat is the wrong one to use if they want to get people to use things that are not in "the meta", they are finally using the BUFF bat instead to buff the things that don't work as well as others (and/or differentiate the things a bit more so that some things are better than others in certain situations and vice versa, like the addition of environmental heat affecting cool-downs of weapons that require cool-down from heat (well only affects the quasar cannon for now, but could be rolled out to other things like the various laser weapons)). I really think this is a good start forward in how to properly handle these kinds of issues to create more varied play and more viable working loadouts. I mean really, at higher levels of difficulty, if you were not using one out of say four viable loadouts, you were simply a detriment to the team and people would get pissed off at you...

I think the core issue was that the first game was incredibly difficult and they wanted this installment to mimic the difficulty but they couldn't find a happy balance between what was fun and what was legitimately difficult. I think the biggest problem is that this game became the new hottest game so a ton of casual gamers - who would have never touched the first game, were now playing this non-stop and giving lots of feedback. It was easy for them to balance everything in the first game because everything felt equally shit in the harder difficulties whereas there's far too many people in the community who believe once they hit level 25 they should be able to steamroll Helldives by themselves.

For me, the Sony bullshit put a massively sour taste in my mouth to the point I didn't even want to play but I came back for a bit when the autocannon mech dropped and played around with that for a bit. Still, the honeymoon phase has passed and I'm back in the middle of Cyberpunk trying out the new DLC.

For me, it's all about blowing [Retracted] up with friends. Leveling up, trying out all the weapons, etc. is kinda immaterial.

Yup i really am done with this game now.
I have all the warbonds... all the unlocks.

I really can not stand the community managers in this game, or the Devs.
I think they are all stupid, and try to pass their ideology, when staff should stay as neutral as possible.
If you don't like it, you get banned from discord.
If you tell them to shut up with politics and let us just be gamers, you get banned from discord.

The dev's are stupid because they nerf everything for balance in a PVE.
The game doesn't need balance, its not that type of game.
The higher difficulty maps are full of trolls, and griefers.
They will kick at right before extraction, making higher difficulty only playble with friends.

Man i can go on and on, but yeah, arrowhead to me now is a blacklisted company.
The CEO stepped down because he knew he couldn't handle the company, and the new directors are even more stupid then the old.

But that is my end of rant, and this war bond on Thursday will probably be the last time i sign on to see if the game has any hope, but im not holding my breathe.

Just picked it up during the summer sale. Got to level 10 so far. I can see how the game will become a grind just running missions over. It really takes a friend's group to make it fun. Had a blast in the original with friends. They don't play this one though. One problem is playing in the lower difficulty and being carried by some high level guys. Didn't see a way to limit levels for missions.

The gameplay loop is definitely a grind and the story missions are far too infrequent to keep it interesting after you've unlocked everything. I really wish the devs had kept this off the shelves until the Illuminate were ready to be released and then had them come in when we first wiped out the Automatons. At this rate, I think the only thing that would bring players back is to release them but the way they have the bots and bugs pushing back and how poorly the supply lines are explained, I doubt the players could handle a new enemy.

when i played helldivers 1 i remember getting all the way to the automaton homeworld and having an absolutely massive boss fight. my only complaint with HD2 is there never seems to be any progress in the "universe". the second you take one sector it falls back into bug/bot hands the next update. though apparently helldivers 1 had a total reset because the meta-game was so hard that super earth got run over, hah (i was not there for that part).

still, the core gameplay of the game is quite fun. but once you max level and get all the stuff, then it's a game best with friends IMO.

The game is still fun with friends... you know they are your friends when they get annoyed at you messing up the straigem console once, and they melee you off.

Also the higher difficulty.. like 8-9 you can only do with friends.
i think honestly like 4/10 games i get kicked at extract, when i probably did most of the work via stealth, so i don't even bother playing those difficulty anymore unless its with friends.

Unless they changed this, there wont be a war bond.
We got patches that don't really work, stratagems that didn't work, and my hate comes from the community mangers pushing WOKE politics in a game where i just want to be a freaken gamer and leave politics out of it.

And yes i was a victim of telling the community managers to take their potlics and shove it and let us be gamers when they were preaching in discord, and they gave me a nice fat ban from discord. Like i really cared, i only used it to get people to team up with, but that doesn't matter anymore as i don't play it anymore and started playing The First Descendant.

The game nerf's everything people find as being fun, does not need balances, and each patch, the game breaks somehow, and kills FPS.

And yes i can host my own game, but again with pugs, in a higher difficulty, you see a lot of low levels join the game and completely WRECK the game. Then when you kick low levels, they say im the rude one, when its them that should learn how to play the D8-9 maps.
They go off shotting every last patrol drawing every agro on the map. And there are a lot of griefers that just team kill / call stratagems on top of the entire team, other stuff to wreck the game. Do you know how many people i have kicked in my worst game i hosted on a d9 map?

Can i even ask you what level you even are, and how many unlocks you have in that game?

And last time i checked, its perfectly fine to VENT in a game thread.

So what if i vent? Everyone is entitled to VENTing in a game all they want in this section as long as the bosses above me allow me to moderate in the section, because that is what the word "Discussion" Means. Your more then welcome to click that nice IGNORE feature and not listen to me VENT all you want. That's why IGNORE is there.

Also last time i checked, saying someone has a "hate boner" is borderline inciting / flame baiting in Tech Section, but hey, i'll give you this one as i admit i am on a hating spree, and also can not moderate a thread i am active in. So do you understand how the warbonds previously worked or just confused THIS month?
Buddy people should play games to have fun, you obviously aren't have any, so step away like so many other people and do something else. I've stepped away because I've consumed all the content, the only thing I need are super credits for whenever the next warbond does come out (which I'll bet when it does WILL be a 2nd Thursday of said month).
I never understand why people get so worked up over a game, hell a $30 game. And even though I'm not currently active on it, still for this year dollar for dollar one of the best games for $30.

If you have the Steeled Veterans for the Senator, Jar-5 Dominator, and Breaker Incendiary, then I would suggest either the Democratic Detonation for the Eruptor (which will destroy Factory striders and Fabricators) and Exploding Crossbow which just helps you blow everything up; or the Polar Patriots for the Pummeler and Verdict if you enjoy running with a shield and picking up the quest items that require you run across the map with them.
