Yeah, big Derp.

And definitely won't be the last by a long shot if people buy those and think they corner well.

He should go find a Yugo. Might be the only thing he's going to be able to insure at a decent rate, after this!

Maybe they should consider putting more than pizza cutters on it for tires....

Although, probably would not have changed the outcome.

As Jeff Spicoli would say "Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it."

Looks like purely a case of very poor driving skill. He'd have done the same thing in any moderately powerful rear drive car, imo.
Plus summer tires in cold weather...

I've driven on plenty of roads like that in Colorado, even at the speed limit they can be pretty twisty (and fun) with all dips and turns. I doubt that crash would have been avoided with proper tires and even a healthy dose of down-force; the guy was simply over confident in his new toy, and didn't slow down.

My god that's an ugly car...

For me the green is just fugly on ANY car, as for the Hellcat I think overall it's an "OK" looking car, at least Dodge didn't attach any giant wings or cladded it with plastic adornments screaming "Hellcat!!", all they did was modify the hood for air-flow reasons, and added "Supercharged" to the front fender, actually done tastefully IMO and besides, with 707HP under the hood you can let the car do the talking on it's own LOL..

Actually the reviews on this car say it handles very well considering it's weight and Dodge installed a very beefy braking system as well. Bottom line is with that kind of torque and HP available this is a car that one has to SLOWLY learn to use it's potential, if your just gonna go out on your first ride and stomp on it on a winding road the result will probably be bad. I guess they could have made it AWD or installed much bigger tires to help with traction but the onus is on the owner to learn how to handle it's enormous output, not romp on it like it's a 350HP Mustang.

No. It doesn't handle well. Skidpad, figure 8, slalom, etc metrics are pretty horrible.

The only people who bothered taking it on a road track and publishing a review were slower than they were in a '15 Mustang GT around that track with it.

Handling "better than expected" or any comment about handling qualified with "considering its weight" by no means means handles well.

I guarantee you this had absolutely nothing to do with the car's cornering abilities.
