heartburn and being a fatty

fatty thread. set phasers to "fat".

i'm 6'2" and about 210. my normal weight is between 195 and 200 but due to a number of factors i've been packing on the pounds a bit as of late.

i've been experiencing heartburn after certain meals now that i'm back up to fatty weight.

my question is, does the heartburn have anything to do with being a fat peice of shit, or is it more geared towards the food i'm eating?

i had a slice of pizza with sausage, pepperoni, ham and mexican flu pig bacon for lunch. it's been especially heartburny. 🙁

Easy there, big boy. 6'2" and 210lbs is not "fat" IMO.

If you are really that female about your weight that +10 pounds = "fatty weight", then maybe it's the foolish stress you are feeling that is causing the heartburn.

Heart burn is one of those things that shouldn't go very long unchecked.

Can cause damage to your esophagus and lead to other issues.

I started getting the acid-reflux type shit once I dove into the awesome world of "massive fattness". I'm hoping it goes away once the pounds go away.

When I was fat (it was a relatively short period) I got heartburn all the time. When I was skinny prior to that period and in all the time since I was fat I never got/get heartburn. So in my case, there was a very direct correlation between being a fatty and having heartburn.

Sure it can be due to being overweight, and if you lose some weight it can help with the symptoms. Skinny people get it too though.

Heart burn has nothing to do with the heart. It's when digestive juices slide up a certain part in your stomach lining next to your heart that gives you the sensation of your heart burning.

im hella overweight right now, i rarely get heartburn. i can think of twice in the past year or so, and neither time was after eating, but just the opposite. not eating all day at work, not drinking enough water.

You need to identify the crap that causes your stomach to produce more acid and avoid those foods.

Yep. And being fat puts more fat/weight on the stomach making it push the juices up. There's a very real correlation with being a fatty and heartburn.

All I know is that I was taking several medications due to heartburn until I lost 52 pounds last year and now I rarely take anything as I rarely have any form of heartburn.

It's not just what you're eating and how fat you are, but how MUCH you're eating.

Having said that, most people that are overweight tend to eat certain foods in abundance. Fast food and carbohydrates (pastries, sweets, etc), for example, are very heavy foods that don't have enough acid in them. When the PH in your stomach isn't acidic enough and you start taking anti-acids, you're not helping matters.

Anti-acids are overprescribed if you ask me. With proper diet and having a little vinegar and citrus juice mixed in to your food can actually help curb any problems you have with heartburn unless you just go on a rampage eating nothing buy pepperoni, jalepenos, and carbonated soft drinks.

 That just might do it. Maybe ease off the meat a bit there?

Oh, and 6'2, 210 is slightly overweight (27 BMI), unless you are quite muscular/bulked.

yes, thats what the doc told me. Stay away from "rich" foods like chocolate and drop some lb's and you're good to go.

heartburn can also be caused by stress

incidently my heartburn was at its worst when i was at my lowest weight (135 lb) after dropping from 180

No kidding! I'm 5'7", 203lbs, and NOT fat (I'm muscular).
