That's where eskipie got stuck before, the idea that comparisons are valid in determining definitions/outcomes when the subject isn't a relative one, but rather an either/or one.

Sure, relative to socialist countries - we have a more free-market system. That doesn't mean we have a free-market system though. :)

The good old semantics of word definition "argument"... a pathetic way of avoiding actual discourse! Good job!

But comparisons are perfectly valid. There are some, for example, that say we're headed towards a 3rd world country. Or that our poor are suffering soooo much. LOL

Compared to fucking what? It's narrow minded. You cannot base a definition on something based on what you think it should be. It has to be based on comparatives. For example, in our country the median salary is what....just over $50,000. So, $1 mill is alot of money. BUT! If, say, the median salary was $500,000, $1 mill isnt that much.

Get it?

I didn't say they weren't valid, however you can't do it when the context/question is binary. eskipie didn't seem to understand that earlier. He said our system "sucks". That is a binary(and subjective) answer. He later offered that the reason it sucks is because he thinks others are better. I tried to explain to him that he should have stated that it "sucks compared to xyz". Meh, people are intellectually lazy and I have fun playing with them - especially the fringe leftists like eskipie.

The UK mandates its pricing. Not as directly as Japan, but end result is the same. Again, with a single payer system you can.

Here's the thing. Giving someone an x-ray has a fixed cost in the end. The tech, the machine, blah blah, whatever. If those giving x-rays were losing money, there wouldn't be any more x-rays to give. Are you claiming those doing the work are not profiting from it? If you aren't the price isn't artificially low... they are just getting a better deal.

I called eskipie a democrat?

No i was calling you a moron for calling a moderate dem radical.

Seriously, polysci books are available to the masses, you can even borrow one for free (if you can handle the evil big gubberment socialist institution that resides in the form of you local public library)

Give the canned oreilly adjectives a rest, no one is buying it and it makes you look ignorant to anyone who has actually cracked a book instead of learning politics 101 from talk radio.

No Socialist or radical would support a party that does stuff like fellatiate the capitalist banking/insurance industries or continue lame wars.

Hell, dems probably making tons of backroom deals right now fleecing the taxpayers for big business and their cronies, and you guys missing out. Sad.

Oh well, you had a good run there for 8 years.

I would work on the bitterness thing though, you guys are not taking it well. You know, even evil radical leftists care about your feelings too.

Feel better soon righties. x0x0x0x0

No, Cad. You are seriously ignorant.

Healthcare access for all is not a "fringe-leftist" issue. It's a center issue at the most.

Take a course at the damn community college for goodness sake.

I agree that Healthcare access for all is a center or "all" issue. However, this bill and any bill that has the Feds running it/mandating it most certainly is not center - it is left. Very left. Eskipie is very left.

This bill is center left at worst. It is hardly far left. Does this bill assume completely control the health care industry? Nope. Will doctors/nurses be government employees? Nope. Will we control all means of producing medical equipment, drugs, ect? Nope. This bill is not a progressives dream, it's essentially a compromise bill in every sense of the word. Hell, the latest version removes price controls as well, which is a huge step towards the center.

You seem to be assuming that government intervention/regulation = far left...in which case I have the ask...just how far right are you?

So everyone pays the same for x ray machines? And all x ray techs are paid the same? And costs built into building leases are the same? And the power to do the x ray is the same? And....

It becomes far left when it forces individual mandates. The gov't knows what's best for you and will force you to do it. Yeah, that's not far left at all...

You have to be able to read above the 6th grade level to make it to community college. Good thing Cad has Fox and Rush to tell him what to think.

Actually the far left is against state socialism to the point where it is almost completely the opposite. Man, you really don't know what you are talking about, CAD.

Here is a book for you that explains the difference.

We already went over this, as soon as you address my request for you to provide specific examples for your broad, extreme right wing platitudes I will be happy to answer that question.

I'm sorry I have to treat you like this, but it's the only way to nail you down to a single argument. I have answered your other questions in the past, and all it does is lead to a wandering argument as each time you are cornered in a losing position you shift to a new topic.
